Going abroad for dental work

How did it go?
It went very well thanks.I went back last September for 2 weeks, there is still a lot of work that gets done, the worst part
was removing the temporary ones, that was uncomfortable to say the least.
(I had nearly all my teeth done top and bottom).
But 10 months on I'm very pleased with them. I've gone from a loose bridge that I couldn't bite
on a banana, to crunching apples. Looks wise they are great, a little to bright for my liking
even though I went for the darkest shade they do (That's the whitest natural colour)
Overall cost was around 25% of what I'd been estimated here and that includes flights and hotels.
Only downside is the Wife has fallen in love with Old town Antalya and wants to go back.
Overall I couldn't fault them.

Pre and post radiographs would be more useful.
Retired dentist here OP no, I never owned an RS7, does a 5 year old M3 count? Poshest car I had, but I didn’t work in general practice.
Sorry for being curious but may I ask you something?
Given the massive amount of periodontal disease present in that x-ray, what sort of maintenance care have you been prescribed? Are you going back to the clinic for review on a regular basis? Have you found a UK dentist willing to take you on?
Not trying to be a smarty pants, just curious.

If a procedure is available in my home country I won’t go abroad for it. Anything medical.
That’s not to say that abroad isn’t cheaper and better, but of all the medical procedures I have had (and it is a lot) I would estimate that 80% of the time I have needed some sort of follow-up or revision. I would far rather not have to board a plane to get problems fixed.
An ex-colleague went to Kaunas, Lithuania for similar work and couldn’t speak too highly of the clinic. More towards to Hungarian costs than the Turkish IIRC, but she had a decent quality (Eastman (UCLH)-trained) dentist work on her.
She used Wizzair direct from Luton, and all transfers to and from airport and hotel and hotel and clinic were included in the price.

That was me. FWIW my current dentist drives an i8
Mine, who doesn’t even work full time, has just changed her Evoque to a FFRR, no doubt paid for with all the Denplan payments she’s continued to take over the last year while being closed most of the time so having no variable expenses.psi310398 said:

Thread revival!
Interested in the Lithunia connection as I'm seriously thinking of having some work done now and it will be abroad as I'm not paying £14k+ in the UK.
I've considered Turkey but as I expect to need several trips need to weigh up the cost and ease of travel against going somewhere closer like Eastern Europe, Budapest, Lithuania etc.
