Until he wins a trophy over here he'll be worse than ETH lol.
Be interesting to watch how this one pans out, and how long the fans /Club stand by him if its not an immediate upturn?
I suspect the club will give him more time than the media will - some have probably already sketched out their "Slot Fails To Slot In" stories. And given that even Klopp, after achieving success, had morons calling up phone ins to demand his sacking after a couple of lost games in previous seasons, the club will probably be more patient than fans too!Be interesting to watch how this one pans out, and how long the fans /Club stand by him if its not an immediate upturn?

I think most people's expectations will be significantly lower than that.
It would be a remarkable achievement if he came close to sustaining the level.

I'm referencing this season end not the last few years. Would agree no one coming in can be expected to do as well realistically. He's got to rebuild in his own style now really.I think most people's expectations will be significantly lower than that.

Klopp is one of our great managers and lot's of people above have mentioned his qualities. He will be missed despite recent performances and body language but whilst the shock of his departure was great at the time, that has now disapated and replaced with a feeling that it's actually the right time for change, for him and for us. I'll have a go at some of his non-qualities of which he has a few IMO:
1. Stubborn - put too much faith in older players. Wanted to keep Milner and Henderson this season. Fortunately someone at boardroom level overruled him and Milner left. Thankfully Henderson had his head turned too. Continually played Karius and Moreno despite how sh!t they were. Paid the ultimate price for his stubbornness in that CL final. Only then did he finally relent and we never saw Karius again.
2. Slow decision maker - especially early on but definitely seemed to improve but still makes the odd strange decisions. I always found him to be reactive instead of proactive, slow to make decisions when we were playing badly or losing. Six home defeats in a row three years ago, which Klopp seemed to do very little to change - even formation-wise or seemingly coaching on the training ground. He'd wait and wait until it almost too late to make changes, be it tactically or subs. Bournemouth 4-3 away was one that always stuck in my head. He did seem to get much better over time but it seemed to take forever. Some recent team selections have been WTF or bringing on defenders when we need to win the game.
3. Not ruthless enough - Have already spoken about his faith in older players and not moving them on sooner or even sticking with poor players. Some would say that is actially a quality but football is a ruthless business. He could be ruthless as saw with Sakho, he just wasnt ruthless enough for me.
4. Stephen fking Caulker!
Still gave us some of best ever memories like winning our first league title in 30 years - nothing beats that. But also building a squad with a very low net spend that played some of the best football I've ever seen. Should have won more but hey ho, that's Klopp - imperfect at times but also the most human of people.
The problem is a lot of those points may also have been his strengths. You could argue sticking by players made all of them more loyal and willing to give a bit extra for him. Same for the tactics, giving the players time to learn them even if it didn’t immediately work was probably a good thing, meaning long term they could change things without immediately panicking and going back to the old stuff that worked but was getting found out and so not good enough to win the league. 1. I’d say he was probably unusually stubborn for a manager on tactics and players, but given he was such a good manager was that part of the reason he did so well, even if in some games or players it didn’t work out?

- feels that way
His stats look great - Feyenoord out perform Liverpool on various ones I saw - and any other team in Europe. But ultimately it's at a level of footy which is a bit below the PL. As lng as he can do similar with better players, he should be a good fit. Looking forward to it, not seeing any negatives.

Not sure what to make of slot tbh.
His stats don't look all that great
He's got a better PPM (2.13) over the past 3 years than Klopp has with us (2.07) or had with Dortmund (1.91)His stats don't look all that great
I'd say comparing his Feynoord stats with Klopp's at Dortmund is pretty fair. His win % + goals scored and conceded per game are all superior, so again not sure what's wrong with his stats as both were in a league that had a club who historically won everything and had far more resources (Bayern/Ajax)

There's plenty to be getting on with.

The only upturns I'm looking for are to stop conceding first every single game* and to get Nunez to hit a cows arse with a banjo now and again.
Yeah that's wearing pretty thin now. - feels that way
I'm more inclined to think we'll cut our losses with Nunez. For how long can we day "yes but if his finishes improves he'll be unstoppable"?
It's OK dreaming about the day he puts on Jota's boots but it's not going to happen.
