some part of an oil refinery if i remember right, was a long time ago now though
edit: found a bit more about it
A heavy haulage firm - Econofreight of Middlesbrough - possesses the capacity to carry up to a single indivisible load of 7,000 tonnes. However, when it comes to moving such loads on the road networks of England, it is doubtful whether ministerial authorisation would be granted. The previous biggest load ever carried on British roads was a gross train weight of 1,265 tonnes. It took 2 years to plan, crossed 19 bridges , removed 131 street lamp poles , re-routed a major overhead power line , constructed 2 motorway crossovers , to name the largest problems, and moved on a 26 axle trailer (on 416 wheels - 16 per axle). The department for transport , county and local councils together with motorway and local police were involved. The load was a refrigerator unit for Shell's Stanlow refinery.''

Is that an oil rig anchor ?
An anchor yes - just been repainted. There were actually two.Off an oil rig - no idea but I'd be surprised if oil rigs had anchors as they would need
a more fixed system to ensure they did'nt get dragged off station - happy to be told
otherwise of course.
OK, so not as heavy as a lot of the stuff on here - but I'd hate to have been the bloke filling out the risk assessment on this load!!

Tyler out of Washington was carrying well over 250 bottles of Oxygen, nitrogen, Argon, Chlorine, Carbon Dioxide, Acetylene, Hydrogen, Propane and Helium. AND he has the scale ticket to prove it!
