Overnight and weekend parking is to be banned in laybys in the Shepway District (folkestone )area .
£70 fine .
With all the truck parks in the area normally full by about 5pm where are they going to go ?
More parked up on slip roads and industrial estates then .

Two have opened in the past few years , one in Whitfield nr Dover and Stop 24 services nr Folkestone, we need about 4 of them each holding 300 plots .
This is unlikely to happen .
The question of the problems of parking truçks in Kent has been discussed for 30 years by Kent county council ,the result ? Nothing , Nada , Zero .
Except the closing of roadside parking along most of the A roads .

I did find an article from a couple of years ago stating that Kent County council had identified the need for 3 new truck stops of 200 trucks in each .These were to be funded and built by KCC and costs re-couped from parking fees .
Still waiting !

Kent to get £250m towards a truck park to reduce the impact of op stack .
The local MP'S are saying this will stop the misery of all the laybys being health hazards .
