Thread Resurrection!
As per previous posts I collect a new 4 or 6 berth Etrusco or Roller Team motorhome on 1st April from Tuscany and then have to deliver it to Edinburgh 10 days later.....
Very aware that the post is 7 years old and the world has changed a little so I thought I would share my rough plans on here to see if they get a Pistonheads ThumbsUp?!
Fly to Pisa, train to depot collect motorhome. Book somewhere local for 1st night. Then onto Venice maybe via Florence. Travel to Dolomites maybe stay a few days.
Then South Germany for Castles and Eagles Nest.
I'm quite interested in war stuff, so I then want to go looking for interesting places in Germany/Belgium and France travelling in the general direction of the Uk. I've been to Ypres, Flanders, Atlantic wall before but would go again.
Cross the channel at Calais and head oop Norf!
Keen to hear about must do places (Pistonheads came up absolute trumps on my Canada trip!)
Thank you
Ian

This sounds a right laugh , bit of busmans holiday for me and nags head.
Are you using most your 10 days in Europe or saving a view for a bimble around Scotland ?
Its really bonkers but I can't see any further than Italy at the moment. I've got some ideas but nothing fixed at all!Are you using most your 10 days in Europe or saving a view for a bimble around Scotland ?

Hope they give them a decent pdi at the factory before they let them go!Are you using most your 10 days in Europe or saving a view for a bimble around Scotland ?
Wonder how that works as they certainly wouldn't normally so wonder if they have a different arrangement for the ones they sell to the rental companies
Great idea though and sounds like a great adventure that!
Every days a busmans holiday, currently overnighting exmouth seafront in the wind between work in the scampervan

Hopefully not related! We go on Monday, fly to Pisa, 2hrs on the train to collect motorhome. First night will be somewhere near collection point and then we will start to progress towards Uk. I've decided to take each day as it comes so route not planned at all.
Think we might visit Ducati museum, possibly watch a band somewhere, play some music, read a book, eat well, laugh a lot!
Feels very weird from someone who tends to plan a lot!

Look on YouTube for extreme motorhome adventures , they've done quite a bit in Italy.
Do you choose what berth motorhome home you want or just get given something when you turn up ?
great call I will look them up!Do you choose what berth motorhome home you want or just get given something when you turn up ?
Lost Asian have you any plans?
So far as choice I get given either a 4/6 berth Etrusco or Rollerteam on arrival.
When we took a just go motorhome down to Sicily and back a few years ago the searchforsites app was a godsend. We found it was well worth subscribing for a month and found some really good campsites along the way.
I’m very jealous, I was hoping to do a delivery trip this year but the dates didn’t work out.

I'm thinking of Sienna, up the coast to cinque terre then maybe upto Lake Garda.....All subject to change tho
Just back from an 11 day adventure......
Collected a 7.5m Rollerteam based on Ford Transit, 20 miles on the clock, fitted out with pots/pans, bedding etc.
Sleeps 5. Drop down bed over table at front of van with a rear lounge that converts into a double bed.
Three days driving through Italy. Went to Bologna to the Ducati Factory, Mugello race track and then stayed at Lake Garda where I managed a Lakeside pitch and a swim in the Lake.
From Lake Garda we drove the Brenner pass, through Austria and stopped 2 nights near the Neuschwanstein castle in Germany, nice campsite, nice castle nice swimming!
We then went on a couple of war type excursions that were recommended on here (thank you very much), The Maginot Fort is well worth a visit aswell as Blockhaus Eperlecques which again is fascinating. To think that they were both constructed less than 100 years ago. In between the Blockhaus and the Fort we spent a night in Ypres attending the nightly last post at the Menin Gate.
Crossed the Channel and stayed in Faversham for 1 night before driving to Edinburgh via my home in the Lake District
11 nights, 1800miles, total cost around £1600 including flights, diesel. A great experience probably a little too much driving would add maybe 3 days and have 2 drivers rather than just me.
Didn't plan more than 1 day out which was really liberating.
