Not sure if this has been posted before but there is a nice "man" house on Frank Knight at the moment which has

cinema
indoor swimming pool
bar
Table tennis and American pool, table footbal and arcade room
Shooting range shoot (in the house of course so you don't get wet).
Helipad
Tennis court
Squash court because everyone has a tennis court.

So given all this, what's his garage like? Worthy of on here, or falls at the last hurdle?

Worthy or not worthy?

Look at that sunset !
9 hole golf course too. Just incredible. I have my list of 'lottery cars'. That would certainly be the 'lottery house'.
Only 9 hole......pah. smile

An update on mine:
my floor was starting to look a little scabby after a couple of years of struggling with 'normal' floor paint (i didn't leave the concrete long enough before applying the first layer, back in the day - my own fault)

so i bit the bullet, emptied it all out and got a commercial flooring company in to pour a 2 pack epoxy floor. they had to use a special rotary grinding tool to scrape off all the crappy old flaky paint, followed by 2 coats of epoxy sealer to stabilise the substrate

the next day, he went over the whole garage with epoxy filler to fill in any little low spots and gave it a light grind with a different machine to take any remaining high spots off and applied the first coat of colour

he did the same again the following day (it was getting pretty flat now)

before putting the finishing coat on

in real life, it looks awesome, is really shiny and smooth (it is that hard and flat that it almost feels soft to touch, weird!!) the surface has a working life of 10 years in an industrial capacity (to include forklifts etc) so i expect to get a REALLY long life out of it in my lightly used garage, to say i was pleased is an understatement! The only problem being, it made the walls look scruffy, so i got painting, i decided on gulf colours to give it some sort of a motoring vibe

you will notice that i have even installed coving on the floor to hide the scruffy edges (since painted light blue to match the wall), only tidying up of the pinstripe to go now (pinstriping blocks is not easy!!!)

Looks absolutely fantastic, can I be rude and ask how much that cost?

a grand for the floor and about £250 for paint and consumables. I consider the floor an absolute bargain because it was about £200 a time (roughly annually) to paint it and it always ended up deteriorating/peeling after a couple of months of traffic so was forever looking different shades of crap.

I agree, I would say that's pretty good value you've got there. I paint mine (Wicks Garage Floor Paint) and it seems ok for 3 or 4 years. Maybe I'm less fussy but I do like the look of that job.

p.s. Agree about the stripes, but I made the width of two bricks so it was easier to mask along the pointing. I wouldn't fancy doing a fine pinstripe like you've done. biggrin

Looks good! the problem with mine was that i didn't let the concrete go off sufficiently after i had the garage built before adding my first coat, so as the floor contracted fractionally all the paint started peeling, i then scraped off all the loose and repainted, for it to happen again eventually.

The bottom line is i was chasing my tail so had to get the whole lot off before starting again properly. If your floor was properly seasoned (ie several years bare) before paint was applied, i'm not surprised that you are getting much better wear out of normal paint.

because it is epoxy (essentially a plastic) covering, it is impervious, so any spills have to be got off manually, nothing soaks into it, a dot or oil just stays there until you wipe it up. it also gets a little bit slippy if you don't clean up properly. I nearly went over on a bit of coolant the other day (am assisting a mate in rebuilding his engine - so yes, this garage does get used properly biggrin )

Good to see some PHers garages on here again, mine is getting there - just needs a bit more painting, my workbench assembled and the electrics finishing and phase 1 will be complete and I'll get some photos on here. Phase 2 will be sorting out the floor, insulating & boarding the ceiling and fitting more lighting, but that will be next year.

Greg - The refresh looks really good! Is that an electric car charger I spy between the doors?

Rich - are those posters framed? I've got posters from the times I've been to Le Mans, but not sure on the best way to hang them onto brick, I'm guessing blu-tack won't cut it!

Hanging off a couple of screws in the brickwork

Cool! I was looking at getting one of the free chargers, but more for future proofing.
