How bloody small does that countach look!
Maybe I need a parrot but surely that's because it's a kiddy car?
er, is it?

oh fk.
We bought a kiddy's car for one of our children and also found it to be significantly smaller than a real one. Odd, but there you go.
yea but how much smaller? 1:43? 1:18?

Who has the best "garage" on Pistonheads ? not who has the best "i'm rich and have got a showroom"

Surely to qualify as a garage on this post the garage should be occasionally be used to work on the car, therefore excluding the latest Audi/BMW etc on a shiny polished floor where the car is driven out of the showroom to the local dealers to have a lightbulb/windscreen wiper changed,

Just my opinion.....

Surely it all depends on what you want to do with your own money? If you want a showroom then so be it. Not everyone wants a pit, lifts, oil over the floor and chipped mugs for their tea.

Agreed, why do we have to worship at a single end of the garage spectrum?

My preference is for a lift, chipped mugs and tits on calendars, but I can see how working on your own car is a very marmite hobby.

If I am ever in a postion to build my own garage then it would be somewhere in the middle. I would love a lift and I still want to build my own Caterham at some point but my working knowledge of engines is very small. I have never done an oil/brake change for example but I would love to learn.

Thing is though I love to see those sorts of garages. They are all garages, after all.

Not at all, there are many people who commented positively and remarks about wealth or income are unnecessary on this thread.

Like a lot of people on here I bought my house for the garden. Or should I say, building potential. Was a couple of years back now but I built a little shed at the bottom of the garden:

The plot:

Some of the mess during the "getting it out of the ground" phase:

Building:

Cars home:

Mess:

Like I said, few years back now so looks more used and lived in. It's 7m wide by 10m deep and still not big enough.

My perfect garage scenario would be to have a combination of the two, a minimalist pristine showroom to show off some cars, and a workshop to work on others. I think that's the beauty of this thread, we get to see some at either end of the spectrum, and others that are more in the middle.

I very much enjoy working on my own cars, evrything from engine builds to welding and fabrication. I would love a nice clean space like the red BMW garage above to work in! It just needs some nice cabinets and a big workbench adding. Just because I enjoy "getting my hands dirty", doesn't mean I want to wade through piles of random garage crap to get to the car!

So much potential, a couple of days cleaning and sorting and a few more roller door cuboards to store the stuff.

Note I have same cuboards and are great for hiding clutter and not taking up space with door swing, had office cuboard before , although neat were a pain to open if stuffs stored in front.
