Here are some more pics of the Miura Jota reg. 1 OTA taken in a local workshop a few years ago just before it went off the the Lamgorghini factory for a display.
While we were there, the workshop owner fired the beast up, Oh what a lovely sound

information about the Lamborghini concessionaires in the UK from January 1967 (there was nobody earlier) until September 1971:
from Jan 1967: Mitchel & Brittain. 123 New Cross Rd, New Cross, London SE14 until June 67,
from Sept 1967: R.A. Woolsgrove, Alie Street, London E1, who later changed their title to Lamborghini Concessionaires (Sales) Ltd. and also traded under the name of The Italian Car Centre
After which the various concessionaires were all employers of LCUK's new technical consultant who will, if asked, furnish mountains of information covering the years between 1971 and 1999.
This would include such information as the real situation in the '80s and early '90s which caused Portmans to cease trading and led to Porsche GB creating the Lamborghini Great Britain business and how that franchise ceased and became firstly Lamborghini London, who then were joined by Lamborghini Manchester (both being part of HR Owens) to be further increased with a second UK franchise via the Sytner group with Lamborghini Birmingham and Lamborghini Edinburgh. There is now Lamborghini Reading (who are no relation to Lamborghini Great Britain which was mostly based in Reading) and none of the above any relation to the semi-official franchise of Lamborghini High Wycombe Service.
Despite what many will have read over the years and will no doubt continue to hear, neither Amari or any of his family were ever officially (or otherwise) recognised by Automobili Lamborghini as their UK concessionaires at any time.
All of which is just a slightly off-putting side show to the real point of this sort of thread - being pictures like this:

There's a bloke who drinks in my local who worked for a Lamborghini agent in London in the 60s/70s. He has some amazing old photos of Miuras and Espadas in period... I promised him the photos of my trip to Sant Agata a few years ago, I should dig those out.
He may remember Del Hopkins then, though Del would have been quite junior in those days. Del is now retired but worked for most / all of the Lamborghini concessionaires in the UK from the late sixties until the early two thousands and has just asked/agreed to become LCUK's technical consultant. His knowledge is vast, his reputation impeccable, his villa in Spain kind o' cool and has the ability to make me feel not-in-the-least sorry for him when he complains that some evenings in the winter it gets a little chilly Could the person who drinks in your local be Tom Gilburn?
In 1967/8 remember visiting the Alie Street, E.1 showroom and seeing the Shah of Iran's French Blue Miura which got stored there, complete with ski rack. I walked out with a Miura brochure and a 400 GT brochure - both of which I've still got. Del told me that Alie Street was before his time when I visited Lambo Service post Porsche GB takeover. Another ex Lambo mechanic (Bob?) I met a few years ago was at the Whyteleafe, Surrey outfit in the 1972-3 and in the late nineties early 2000s worked for City of London police at Bishopsgate. He gave me a black and white dark photo shot in the factory of an Espada successor looking very similar to the Ital Maserati 124 Medici Concept which presumably got canned because of yet another financial crisis.

Hi all only found this forum by chance whilst looking for something else, I worked at The Italian Car Centre which changed to Lamboghini Concessionaires in the early 70s at Alie Street as a mechanic with Del and Tom Gilban, (note the spelling of his surname he always corrected people on that one), if anyone can put me in touch with Tom I would be most gratefull as lost touch years ago! In answer to your question IsleroS I am still in touch with someone who worked at Alie Street in 1969 to early 70s might be able to help.

There's a really amazing thread about Miuras on www.ferrarichat.com and Jim Glickenhaus (who owns the Pininfarina P5 Enzo thing) recalls a story from his youth where a Miura overtook him on a country road late at night and a few corners later it had come unstuck and crashed so he stopped to help the driver and it was Miles Davis.
