Strange !! The average price of a 12 c spider on AT comes in at just over £91K so estimates not that far off tbh,,,
A lot of them have been for sale for a loonnng time, though.

Just looked on AT, can’t believe how affordable the 650s is now,,start from £75K for a coupe which is apparently rarer than a Spider, it’s black though so not as desirable as soom of the brighter colours,,
Yeah, Im eyeing up a black one. Would not be my fist choice, but, I don't mine erring on the side of discretion. I do love the red ones but it really is very flash, as is yellow. My current car is mamba black. We'll see - Im already in discussion with the dealer. Depends a lot on what they offer for my R8 tbh. I've never traded in a car before so don't really know the "game".

Well,.... watch this space. If the car is right, I'll have one very shortly :-) - partly depends on PX too of my R8. I don't "need" the money from it now, but, storing 2 cars becomes tricky - I do have 2 garages but the second is used for other things.
How have you found the R8? Which model?

I did go and look at once before Xmas, I really like them but they seem very much an A to A car, and to get one past my better half it would have to be more usable for a week away, which means 570GT. The actual GT is still out of our psychological budget.

Sadly as our house currently looks like this it seems it will be next winter before I'm in a position to splash out on anything fun.

Very flash suits the Mclarens tbh, they are a very flash car, colour is a personal choice though , so you need to go with what you find comfortable, if you like Dull colours like Black and Grey you can probably pick up a bargain,,

There are 5 12C's at £65k and under and 4 650S under £80k that don't seem to have budged for months so not sure much is moving. I would be pushing for a deal.
But, if I may, none are really stand out cars for colours, spec, mileage etc. They are bottom end cars for bottom end prices and should not reflect on much better cars.

Not strictly a direct comparison as most 12C were Coupes, most 650S were Spiders.

Very very true, as McLaren owners we know how much colour, spec and mileage can affect the asking price on such a car, unfortunately buyers who are new to the brand only look at the cheapest cars and probably buy in at that level, only then will they realise that they haven’t bought a Cheap car but have in fact bought a cheaper car., it will always be a cheaper car,,

Utterly amazing. V10 R-Tronic, 2010 Spyder. Drives like a dream. Smooth and small feeling or mental and .. mental feeling, depending on the revs :-) Such a beautiful and useable car.

No ones comparing coupe - spider prices, at this moment in time on AT
average price for a 12c spider on AT is £91K

Average price for a 650s spider on AT is £89986.

Nothing wrong with a menacing black supercar. Prefer that to having oddly contrasting dark panels on a lighter colour. Subtle colours are the "quiet luxury" of the supercar world.

Not feeling it for the one I had in mind. I'm now eying one at Thorney's.

Anyone got the factory sports exhaust on the 650s and can confirm what people say that it's a "must"? I have to say my R8 sounds lovely on full chat but I've always felt it could do with a little extra, but not too much. I suspect the turbos strangle the 650s sound on a stock system.

I keep on looking at them but prices are on the high side vs Autotrader but I guess you are paying for a fully inspected, warrantied and top condition car.

Saying that, sales have been slow over the winter compared to the Summer (where they were rolling off the sales forcourt) and there's over 20 still for sale on their website.

I think owners set the price though and it will be interesting to see if sales pick up in the Spring.

Yeah - I'm starting to think along the lines of "just buy the car you really really want" and less about the actual cost. We are talking about £85k vs £98k which in the grand scheme of things.....

This one has caugth my eye: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202309222...
