Newbie here - I am yet to join your crowd but close to doing so.
If anyone can help re the infotainment, I've seen a car at a dealer I'm potentially interested in.
It's on a 21 plate so MY22 methinks. I spoke to them and he said it has the older infotainment [MySpin and no CarPlay/AAuto etc.]
But everything else seems to suggest it's the later car - wheels, interior, lights, power etc.

My q is, there is a shot of the nav and it appears to be the same as early pics of the 1st gen infotainment;
Would a later unit have manufacturers nav as well as Apple/Android compatibility, and so you could well have something with the more basic nav AND app compatibility ?

Can anyone advise what system this pic is of ?

Older I'm afraid - the newer systems use the redundant button as a "power" switch for screen on/off and is the easiest way to tell from photos.

I would say that is a non-CarPlay version, I.E. not a MY22 car. The reason I say this is that on pre MY22 cars the right hand switch is a blank and on MY22 onward cars the right hand switch turns the infotainment screen on and off.

Thanks both, that will do for me, bah !

Bit of a unicorn car maybe - pre-update nav, but :-
Legende GT, 1 of 300, so the 2nd series
Black interior - the 1st ones had amber, these were silver/black or Abyss/brown according to PH and the press release
Grand Prix wheels not the Gold ones of the 2019 LGT
Clear rear lenses
292 bhp so seems like the 2021 upgrade of the A110S

And to add to what others have already said, Alpine introduced updated model year 2022 models on 24 November 2021 after which it was possible to order a 2022 A110. I believe that the deliveries on model year 2022 cars started during 2022 calendar year so there shouldn't be updated model year 2022 cars registered in 2021.

Here is the related Alpine press release:
https://media.alpinecars.com/new-alpine-a110-range...

I've got a model year 2022 car which I ordered in December 2021, it was built in March 2022 and delivered in April 2022.

Cheers for that,I guess even at relatively small volumes you get variations, here's the ad
https://www.arnoldclark.com/used-cars/alpine/a110/...
it's at the other end of the country so I'm not going to go and take a look..

Some articles I found suggesting it looks like the update
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/alpine/a110-l...
https://www.carscoops.com/2021/05/2021-alpine-a110...

The Autocar review has the blanked off RH button, now I know what to look for.
And crucially it also says in the summary MY21 so that very likely explains it thumbup

If you are looking to buy an A110 and want to know of different A110 model variants, I've gathered some info on the different model variants here:

Rear view camera in the central display another giveaway. In the latest models the camera is shown in the infotainment screen.

Does the nav (pre '22) account for traffic, then re-route if it spots a delay ahead?

I've not tried using it yet, as I've only ever done journeys where I know where I'm going.
Yes, it does. To be honest, I found the Bosch satnav display to be clearer in layout than the facelift satnav version. The main downside though is the maps are out of date. You can overcome this by inserting a compatible newer Bosch satnav SD card into the SD slot under the middle console - the SD card overwrites the one embedded under the dash. Somewhere on this thread (or the general Alpine thread) there is mention of which SD cards to buy and where for a quite reasonable low cost. Alpine don't support the Bosch SD cards longer and when they did they charged 450 Euro!
Thanks for confirming, that's great to hear. smile

I do which a company would invest the time to develop an aftermarket CarPlay solution. The early infotainment system is lame.

My Home destination on the Nav in my 2024 registered car is set to the general postcode rather than my house. I've been through the manual and spent time looking at all possibilities but I can't see how to reset this. Any suggestions greatfully accepted.

This doesn't appear to be correct. The Bosch map data is held on a separate SD-card plugged into the control unit. The SD-card is not updated when the infotainment system is updated. You can buy an updated pre-programmed SD-card (on flea-bay) and plug this into the unit. Alternately, plugging an updated SD-card into the slot below the central controls will override the original card in the control unit. I have no idea about the newer CarPlay/Android Auto system.
You may be right there, I have to admit, apologies. It is indeed true that you only need to plug the updated Bosch SD card into the slot below the central controls (and keep it there) and it will override the SD card that's behind the dashboard etc; so you will have updated data i.e. navigation maps for example. My Alpine service manager discovered that by accident when dealing with another client.
Received an SD-card today with updated maps, and plugged it in. Detected straight away (I'm assuming) but no messages about new maps found - although i was being a bit of a contortionist to plug it in and not looking at the screen.
Concerningly, if i remove the new card the unit now displays a No navgiation data message ! I started the engine, locked, unlocked the doors but has made little difference.
I'm hoping it will sort itself out, although my purpose is to use the new maps anyway.
The part no I bought was 39921-54PA8 where PAx is the map revision.
This site lists the same SD card for Suzuki and Alpine A110 when go by manufacturer, and they state compatibility from 2017 so I think it sounds ok.

Returning to this discussion since I have finally picked up my A110 from winter storage so can check the infotainment software version on my 2022 car:

Current software version: 283C35519R

According to my car the software is up to date. My version number is different than on 7en's car.

As a reminder, this discussion was in relation to wireless Android Auto which 7en has on 2023 car whereas I don't have it on my 2022 car.

Anybody else with a 2022 or later car with updated infotainment care to share their software version along with information if they have wireless or wired Android Auto?

I believe hardware is the same, I work for Alpine/Renault and I can't find any difference in hardware between wireless/non-wireless cars. On a similar but unrelated note, I also believe that non-telematics cars have the hardware and it's only a matter of software.

I also think the next step would be people checking their software levels.

This is for my A110, build date April 2023.

Current software version: 283C36433R
Serial Number: 00000002IJ02C31

It appears this would be the latest level as the option to 'Check for updates' is greyed out.

I did do some digging prior to picking up my car, to see whether I should expect it to have wireless smartphone connectivity. Here is what I found over a few vehicles checking build dates myself.

Feb 2023 Build Date - No Wireless
March 2023 Build Date - Wireless (A110R)
April 2023 Build Date - Wireless

This is obviously only a very small sample so not a clear indication of which cars will and won't have wireless capability. We also have to be careful with social media reports of build dates, as some people will say 'mine is an April car' referring to handover rather than actual build date, which can be many months prior.

Note - Just to correct my previous post quoted above, when in my car with ignition on/engine not running Android Auto is picked up and music will start playing but only if selected. When the engine is started the music will start playing automatically. I would like to figure out how to 'hide' Android Auto temporarily, as once open it takes over the screen (it's intended purpose I know) and the only way I can go back, say to adjust sound equalization settings, is to disconnect from AA via my phone.
