Short answer , Jack Griffiths had involvement with both the TVR and the Intermeccanica company .

Jack Griffith's TVR supply dried up. Can't remember if it was related to dock strikes or another financial collapse. He started looking for a replacement and that led him to Frank Reisner, of Intermecchanica fame. Together, they developed the Griffith 600 (or Torino?). When Jack Griffith abandoned the project, another financier was found, and Reisner continued production.
