Yup, he seems like a new man. Let's see if he can keep it up. Acosta still seems to be struggling with the tyre management aspect of MotoGP but his skills were mighty impressive again today.
Jorge did well to limit damage after such a poor quali.... And Marc did well to hold them both off when he's clearly not 100% getting the feeling he wants from the bike, but yeah, Mav in another category today.
Aprilia may already have their man, Maverick is so fast and safe when he feels right, let's hope the team can keep the bike dialled in. So far the Aprilia is looking like the fastest bike on the grid.
This season is so spicy, the top 4 finishers are really livening things up this round. Not sure what is going on with Brad, I know he's carrying an injury but would be great to see him back in amongst the lead group soon.

Looks more like the bike is not comfortable with what he wants it to do. Pre shoulder it would have been bullied and bent into submission, hopefully the team can make it fit his style better.Acosta had a great ride, don't see anyone else on that bike doing what he is,if he doesn't get a win before seasons end it will be down to the bike for me, he is already making up a slight acceleration deficit with corner speed and brakes (quite dramatically in some corners) and that isn't going to help conserve tyres.
Pity it wasn't a more interesting race, if Mav gets away as well tomorrow the gap might be even bigger. Doubt it is his second coming, been hot and cold since he came to the class and seems very track sensitive. Would love to see him up at the front week in week out but he is the Spanish version of Steve Hislop for me (nothing wrong with being similar to Hislop,class act and faster than anyone on his day) and that makes it hard to win championships.

Steve Hislop was a double BSB champion and an 11 time winner at the TT and won at least one smaller class.

He is already on a factory bike, but satellite team run. It may be his engineer is better than the factory guys and doing more with less...t as Hislop! Great race. Given half a chance he would have been a GP winner had not Honda decided they wanted him more on the roads at the time. Outside of some incredible laps by him and others around the TT i consider his Donington lap on the 998 that was faster than the Moto GP qualifying lap the same year, at the age of 40, as probably the greatest lap of any circuit by any rider. The post was not intended to be a slight on either rider, only highlighting well documented similarities in both riders wanting everything to be as near perfect before they could perform at their best vs the ability to ride around issues that some others have.
