Yes, I can see those numbers work on a 400 scooter.
Admittedly, it’s rather dull doing it on a 400 scooter though! Hence I keep tweaking them to see if something more interesting might work.

Like an S1000RR.

That would help - I had a loan bike once, a Honda NC750 - great on fuel but fu**ing boring! smile

That's always been my view. I commute by bike for the time saved, not the money saved!

Over the last 25yrs my commuting fleet has been:

Kawasaki KLE500
Kawasaki ZX6-R
Kawasaki ZX9-R
Honda VTR1000 Firestorm
Kawasaki ZX6-R
Honda VFR800 VTEC
Kawasaki ZX7-R
Triumph Speed Triple 955i

All of them have been fun bikes to ride, because commuting is the lion's share of all the riding I do.

The VFR is my current bike but I am considering changing it for a Kawasaki GTR1400 for a bit more weather protection, but the downside of that is that it is a big old bus so I am worried about losing some of my in town filtering capability. It's not a great leap from there in the classifieds to a ZZR1400 with a top box, width problem sorted, hello hyperspace!! hehe

I don't (yet) have to worry about ULEZ for my commute, you can get a lot of ZZR1400 for not very much money and have a lot of commuting fun.

I'm using the train today ( I've got suspected pneumonia); I feel a bit butt hurt paying over £60 for parking and a day return. The trip in was fairly pleasant though tbh. Big savings to be had going by bike and it took 20-30 mins longer today despite timing the arrival at the station with only 2 mins to spare. The trip home is usually not so good on the train..

This is the way I feel every time I need to go to an internal event that I can't take the bike to. £10 for parking + £40 for the train when it could be approx £10 for fuel and a (generally) more pleasant experience. The only benefit is that I leave about an hour later for the train as I don't have to be in town early to beat the worst of the traffic and secure a parking space in a bay.
