Couple of comments for what they are worth, your first choice, my stepson when looking for a Cerbera went to see him, the Cerb he was interested in was poorly prepared, well up on price and had some issues that the vendor wasnt really interested in, thats not so say he would be the same with all vehicles Your second choice, this has been for sale for ages,I seem to remember someone else on here looking at it, it was on my list prior to buying my present Chimp,I did speak to the vendor and as I remember there were some items that didnt quite add up so I left it, I didnt see the car but in fairness a 2000 4.5 for 10K dont seem too bad
HTH Richard PS if your were to visit TG cars I am only about 6 miles away and would be happy to visit with you if you wanted (unfortunately I am prob away this W/E) but any other time just shout

Was my first TVR, and I didn't have time to travel far and wide to find a good private sale so I bought mine from TG in 2010, similar age and mileage to the blue one. Could have probably found cheaper, but he was great to deal with and sorted out a couple of issues with no quibbles afterwards. Touchwood I've had a good one so far.

Furthest away is TG, about 2.5 Hours. That's why I'm trying to fit as much in as I can....

Really?
I know the TG car is a bit expensive but I thought the other 2 seemed good... for dealer cars anyway.

Give the silver 450 a miss. I drove 2.5hrs to view it and was very disapointed. Loose crank and camshaft due to engine wear/low oil pressure and the outriggers and chassis had not been 'fannied' as per photographs so were hanging with heavy corrosion. Hope this helps.

Picked up my 1st Chim on Saturday from TG. Good guy to deal with, honest and called me straight back when I had a minor issue and was very willing to put it right. If its any indication this was the second time TG had sold my Chim, the previous owner came back to him and traded it in against a Tuscan.

Looked at many ropey private sales and decided quite quickly that I would pay the premium of a reputable TVR dealer to get myself a good one. Used Bespoke Performance who originally sold my car as new and have serviced it since 2000.

Thanks for the info chaps, very usefull. I thought it best to drive a few good ones first, so I know what to expect when I start viewing Private cars. Debonair V12 said: Give the silver 450 a miss. Big thanks for the heads up, I wont bother with that one then, I'll go to James Agger instead. Does anybody have inside information about possible private cars in the area? Cars not on the market just yet perhaps?

Best of luck and i do hope you find a good one, but i think you may be surprised at the standard of some "dealer" cars. Dont discount buying private especially as you could have an independent inspection for your piece of mind. A long way from you i know but people like Trackvroad, or exworks at preston have an excellent reputation not just for repairs and servicing etc but also for the "standard" of the cars they sell, most of which have been looked after by them over a period of time.
