Hi

I have an issue with my Griffith 500. When the engine is cold it runs fine. As soon as it starts to get warm it begins to stutter badly up 3500 RPM - it then won't hold idle either - it drops to 500 RPM and barely stays on. Above 3500 RPM it runs fine even when warm. (have left some black tracks on the road when it suddenly kicks in :- )

I have a fairly new coil and ignition leads - I cleaned the stepper motor - checked the distributor - checked oil pressure connector. Any ideas of were to check next are more than welcome

Cheers,

Dan

I had exactly this with my Chimaera.

Turned out to be a pattern part rotor arm.

I think you have a faulty temp. Sensor or air in your coolingsystem. My chimaera had the same. Cold the feuling is oké, but geting warmer there will be to much fuel in it. Above 3500 the engine can handle it, but lower rpm the engine is overfueling.
It turn out to be my radiator. There where some little hols in it. Cooling down the engine it sucks air into the system.
So get the system air free or it wil be the temp. Sensor for the ecu.

Good luck

Pieter
