Pete,

....Andy from Gearboxman in the UK made his own puller for the 5th gears and I do believe he has a video on it..... ..
I had a quick look. Looks a pretty straight forward tool to make but I haven't the faintest how, for a reasonable price. Could then be hired/lent out because I doubt most of us would be using it more than once or twice in our lifetime. Pete

Pete, have a look at this:

I've got a 10 tonne hydraulic puller and I reckon with your brains and enthusiasm and my, well, enthusiasm it wouldn't be too hard to make up a fairly simple attachment, however it needs to be long enough to fit over the shaft. Pete

I did some good for a change wink I researched some time back about the T5's limitations and found out about Paul's lay shaft bearing retainer plate so mentioned it on this post nerd its a small world scratchchin
You did good. You certainly got the old Griff grey matter working overtime. To think PeteGriff was complaining a few days ago about no action on this forum. This is far more enjoyable then talking work or playing golf....(I may get some stick for that statement)

On a serious note, I'm not trying to do these specialist companies out of business but I do like to have a go myself, call it an intellectual challenge. I am sure there are plenty who will continue to use the GearBoxMan and others. Pete

Interesting thread; and good to see a specialist contributing. Any views on the resulting ability of the T5 to handle bigger loads (ie from the turbo or SC crew) after these mods?
I just got a PM from Paul Cangialosi, he has been blocked. A pity as if anybody has the expertise to answer some of these questions he has. At the end of the day you don't have to buy his rebuild kits, there are plenty of others out there. I suggest if you want specific questions answered you contact him via his website. Pete

Why was he blocked?
Because of this comment?

...I have 2 books available on Amazon, the first one ( Building and Modifying High Performance Manual Transmissions ) is the book that has a great deal of T5 information, just search for Paul Cangialosi.
That seems pretty petty minded if you ask me.
As far as I could see he was providing genuinely good information to an audience that actually wanted to hear it...
Perhaps I will get blocked for daring to ask the question?

Agreed. Heavy handed and counter-productive.
