Does changing seats affect value or re-sale out of interest?

I was tempted by Cerb seat option but in end got my recovered by Trim Technician
I succumbed to the temptation....

Kept my old seats though, just in case I die and my wife sells it to someone who wants it back to original... hehe

Audi TT mk1 seats... £130 pair / e bay . Had to take all the underneath giblets out and runners, bolted in place , solid seats , lighter than originals after all hingey stuff removed
Very supportive and great for lower back support. Great for my achey 6 ft 5 lump

i fitted elise seats. look hard with little padding , but were the most comfortable seats I've seen.

you can fit the slide mechanism too, and the seat is just as low as the tvr ones

Here's some photos of the adapted Mazda seats ,they are very close fit so measurements are critical

MX5 seats have been commonly fitted to E Types as the footwell width ( like the Griffs ) is so narrow. I like the sound of the Elise seats. I nearly bought a lovely 98 Elise 2 summers ago, but for the life of me, I can't recall what the seats were like !

These are MX5 seats - slightly different to the ones shown earlier.
No speakers and a rounder top to the headrest
Possibly from a series 1.5 car but i'm not sure

I just recoloured them using the furniture clinic kit, quite easy to do and really effective.
Going to remove some of the foam over the weekend (foamectomy)
I must be one of the only persons who find the original seats really comfortable....!

The previous owner swapped the seats round because the drivers seat had become worn and very cracked. I decided to use one of these leather renovation kits with some scepticism. A mornings work and I was amazed, the seat was if not as good as new at least like one a year or two old. I'm sure I posted pics a year or so ago. I the. Swapped the seats back which meant the recline lever was on the right side. Pete

You and me both - I still have the original seats (having tried Elise seats but not likes the rake), as I like them so much.
I use four point harnesses to stop me sliding around on track days. I worked out a way to install the harnesses and still leave the inertia reel belts available for road use.

Andy, those MX5 seats look good, a very tight fit though. And have they raised the driving position much ?

Re Cerb seats, my first Griff ( an early 96 HC ) had them, i didn't realise they weren't std Griff seats until I foolishly sold it, in April 2007. The drivers one wasn't comfortable though, lower back support was very poor.
I'm wondering if the Cerb seats were fitted to my car from new as an option ? As it was a highly specced car, inc full leather.

Hi neutral3

Seats sit on original runners without any mods to the floor.
They are slightly higher than the originals but by no more than an inch - and that may be down to the fact that the original seat bases had collapsed.
I paid £100 per seat and they look pretty good in situ - very curvy like the car

I'm looking to change the colour of my leather seats and vinyl door cards, etc from magnolia to dark blue.
www.kolorbond.co.uk/vinylkote-paint-leather-vinyl do a product that can apparently be applied to both leather and vinyl, seems a good way to avoid colour matching issues.
Anyone used this product, is it long lasting/durable?
Can anyone recommend a better product that does both materials?
