All the shiny bits on my dash

Well I have been on to levern asking why they sent me all silver dash buttons and where has the red one gone ? last time they supplied me with a kit the red button went on the hazard switch can anyone remember this ? (please email levern to say so )
Please look at my old dash and tell me where this red button came from

Its not a std TVR button ! if you look closely in the photo its an over lay like the silver ones , it came in my kit in 2005 its a fine alloy pressed button that is anodized in red .
they have a stickey pad on the back and you can stick them over your PRE-CAT buttons ?

The link to our website does not state or show a red anodised button. We have never advertised that a red button is available and there is no evidence we can see to show that the previous Leven owners advertised a red anodised button that was available. In fact we have gone back over previous literature from Leven up to 13 years ago and cannot find any reference to substantiate this. The sixth button can is for early Griffiths with a 'non-illuminated' hazard switch. Illuminated switches cannot be covered by law for safety purposes. If anyone is unsure regarding availability or suitability of any of our products we always encourage them to contact us and confirm/discuss this with us personally!

Also, to clarify, on the front page of our website, there is a statement to say that the online shopping cart is not 'up and running yet', and asking for customers to ring their order through until the online shop is finished and completed. We are happy to talk to you and help.

There was actually a red anodised finish button offered very early on, as part of the 6 button set for Griffs to special order. I remember Julie sending me one out to see if I liked it. Black anodised buttons were also available to special order, (unlike the black blower knob that was just a painted finish) and that is what I fitted to my pre-cat back in 1999 I think. I sent Julie back the red one but kept the 6 black ones.

On the early cars the hazard button is non illuminated and just uses both dash flasher lights. I had the 6 black anodised buttons on the car until last year when I sold them and went back to standard. I never liked the silver finish stuff personally with black rim dials, the black Leven ones looked subtlety different though. Not much help really if they are NLA but at least the original poster will know he did not imagine it. Probably dropped through lack of demand following the change to illuminated switches.

Straight from the horses mouth!! We contacted Simon (previous owner of Leven) and he confirmed that red anodised buttons were never advertised as available but he did have a few samples made and offered them to selected customers. Simon confirmed that he never drilled a hole in them himself, that was left up to the discretion of customers to drill. He did not continue to have the red buttons made as standard. Obviously as stated previously, illuminated hazard switches are not meant to be covered.
