Hi,

Think I may have a problem with the alternator fuse as I seem to be running flat occasionally.

Voltmeter shows between 14-12 volts, and should be 14v with engine running?

Is the fuse a TVR item, or can you get one at most motor factors?

Thank you!

A good motor factor will charge around £1.50 for a pack of 10 or so. The 100 amp fuse box is (usually) sited near the starter motor underneath the car and is easiest to get to by raising and removing the front offside wheel

Thank you!

I know this sounds stupid, but I'm going to need to take the car to get the fuses.

So to avoid jacking up the car, removing the wheel, identifying the type of fuse, refitting wheel, driving to motor factors and back - then repeating process. Do you know exactly which type to ask for?

Thanks again!!

Any strip link 100 amp fuse will do. The ones I have are made by Gordon Equipments Ltd. (under the trade name 'DURITC'. Part number is 0-378-10). I've just looked at the packet.

No problems to fit- and you'll have nine as extras.
All the best,
Kenny

Edited to add- sorry, you don't need to actually remove the wheel- it's just that on my car, we extended the battery cable and the 100 amp box is now behind the wheel hub.
