6-7 on a track day

can do a full tank am AND pm


...and then there's the ones getting to/from!!!

but then if you want MPG by a diesel

Mine is almost in your price range and it passes your list with flying colours, and its a 97P.

There have been long discussions about this recently so you might want to do a search for that thread. I would say you really must match revs on down shifts (in a TVR) if you're anywhere remotely near the limit of grip (and that limit comes up pretty quick on slippery days). Heel-n-toe is the best way to match revs, but takes a certain amount of skill to do properly and needs the pedals to be set up right. Busy roads aren't a good place to learn how to h&t though.
