Looking to re-establish my TVR ownership, after S's in 1993 and 1998 with a good condition Griff. Looking in all the usual places, PH, AutoTrader, Ebay, Dealers. Price wise there does seem to be some marked variation even with similar spec cars.

Preference is, very briefly but ideally;
Exterior - Dark colour - Starmist blue, mica blue, moonraker black, cureton etc. No repsrays /colour changes/acc repairs please.
Interior - Cream, black (with Black ext only) etc but am open minded. V Good condition.
50-70k (mileage, not price!) - though condition (body & mech) is paramount, not necessarily mileage.
Chassis/outriggers must be in decent shape. Well maintained pre-cat 4.3 / 5.0 (with MOT please, sounds obvious but have come across some that dont even have the basics!).
EDIT - I'll add a few more bits, even though it may limit choice but for clarity...well documented history, and ideally low number previous owners. Happy to discuss if criteria is there or thereabouts.

Very outline, I know but hopefully gets the idea across.

If you are considering selling (maybe in the future) or know someone who may be, please drop me a pm or ask them to get in touch. This will be a "pampered, going to a good (neigh, excellent) home" kinda thing, and as such want the choice to be right.

Thanks folks.

In terms of price, you should budget £15 - £20k for a car of the standard you have outlined above.
You are right to be picky. The difference in standards for the same price never ceases to amaze me.

The description fits my car, which isn't for sale so this isn't a stealth sales pitch, but that is the price bracket I would have my car in.

Its a good car but light exterior, dark interior so opposite to the OP's wishlist.

Welcome S-G, nice to meet you on Sunday, if you remember we spoke at length about colour and condition etc. Hope you find a good one soon and can join us on the next Growl, all the best, Pete

Thank you Pete, indeed I do remember our chat, it was great talking to you, thanks for all the advice. Will see how long it takes to find a good one which meets my basic expectations. Look forward to the next Growl by which time I hope to be sorted(!?). BTW "Can't wait" thread was great - very nice work, good seeing the car in the flesh yesterday and subsequently the amount of work that went into it in the thread.

Thanks All,

Thanks Barreti - will see what turns up. Recently there seems to have been a few in the early teens bracket (though missed out on these). Of course without actually viewing, difficult to gauge, and unfortunately sellers usually tell you what they want you to hear. Needless to say asking the right questions helps and of course putting in the mileage is all part of the journey.

Well, after a bit of toing and froing, this week, my hunt for a good Griff is still on.

So, once again, for anyone who has a great condition 4.3 or 5.0, please get in touch.

Not in any rush, just after the right one, so if you want to flag up your potential sale early, please let me know, and please feel free to divulge as much info as possible, and as early in our discussions as possible smile Thanks
