I loath the magnolia seats, centre console, gear lever, hand brake and door card surrounds on the beast, it's ruddy awful and when funds permit it's it's being changed to Red.
Anyone re trimmed the above and what's the approx cost ?

Have you looked at leather dye kits- they work pretty well.

Centre door cards are Navy which looks great, but too dark for the whole interior. Door surrounds, roof pilers and hood interior lining are maglothia and also the seats ( leather faces ) and centre console and gaiters etc which gets grubby very quickly and is a pig to clean due to the deep grain of the Vinle.

Carpets are navy with magnolia edging.

Owned since new and specified the car myself...just a matter of taste I guess?
The interior has remained perfect and the leather just gets a wipe over with leather cleaner/feeder three times a year.

The quality of the leather is superb...maybe I was just lucky? I visited the factory to watch my car being built and the interior trimmers were highly skilled cutting up entire hides.

The magnolia does keep cool when the car is parked in the sun and the dash is dark blue so it does not reflect in the screen. I chose dark blue vinyl for the areas where I thought the car may get grubby...seems to have worked out really well after 16 years?

By the way one of the other posters on this thread mentioned leather colour, have heard these can be very successful and even used with leather fillers to remove creases and cracking, may be an alternative for you?

Hope this is helpful...good luck! :-)

Hi All thanks for the info and yes Toffer , your right re magnolia being a cooler color in the heat, my one has a navy dash top as well which is nice and navy Vinle for the centre of the door cards.

My first one ( an early 96 ) was full doe skin leather inc the dash top ( which looked superb but threw back reflections in the screen )
I love red interiors which will also go with the dark blue exterior.
Amazing you have hung on to it after all this time ! My one was also 16 a few months ago and damn I forgot to crack open the bubbly on its birthday !

I can't join the OP's club as I like bright coloured interiors. Doeskin was a subtler shade than magnolia and was what I chose back when I bought a new one. My current Chim has magnolia and it works well enough too.

Incidentally, anyone suffering with a bright dash top will find that polarised sunnies really make a difference to the reflection in the screen. I was sceptical but it really works.

I couldnt Join as i love my interior. never had problem with reflections in windscreen, i find glossy dark dashes are worse. Doesnt take long to clean , just use some All Purpose cleaner every now and again ...

Just looking back over the cars I've owned, 8 have had magnolia interiors and I like them all, so I won't be eligible for the club either!
