Driving down to Revival this morning I had a 911 follow me into the car park (field). They parked up next to me and as the driver and his passenger got out they turned to me and said "That was a real pleasure following you down the road, your exhaust sounds lovely. That has got us off to a great start to the day, thanks"

Go easy on the squashed beetle brigade, at least they appreciated a decent car and recognised the fact that there beetles sound crap.

Oh God, there I was thinking of a 993 Targa for Mrs M as she finds the Griff a bit too much of a handful but I'm not sure I could stand the abuse from you lot. I suppose I could just not tell you..... Pete

I'm fortunate enough to say I cannot attend the Revival this year as my mum's 80th birthday party will be held later today...

The least you can say about the Porsche boys they enjoy a fast car as much as the next man !

Last Thursday I needed to take the Mway to Calais (due to work), which had several classics on it, Jag XK120, Porsche 356, Merc SL230, Austin Healey' and a very nice E-type FHC in gun-metal (had a chat with the owener at a petrol station....)

At the end of the day, we all love classic cars, thats what connect us petrolheads !

(admittedly owners of 'modern' Porsches can be ...wel, you know...)

However, you could drive it wearing a Balaclava head warmer. Just the eyes showing. No Tiv would know it was you. Like down and out drivers of old shed Skodas!! A colourful Tubeteika would be appropriate for a Griff.

Did I say I was going to drive it....? I'll stick to the hairy @rsed Griff....

Prices for 993s (the last of the air cooled 911s) have gone so high, I'm not sure I want to spend that money anyway, for what is after all, a squashed beetle
