After having messed up one of my rear hub carriers (long story!) Pete Griff put me onto some rather tasty carriers made from T6 aluminium billet. All nicely CNC machined and so light. Importantly for me they are compatible with 500 style 273 mm rear discs. Anyone looking to upgrade rear brakes to 500 style discs or even wanting to reduce the unsprung weight these are seriously worth considering. Pricing out two regular hubs + bearings these come in £70 cheaper than standard cast steel replacements and they look much nicer and they only weigh 131g including bearings.

Caliper mounting ears are identical - new and old below:

and the fit to the uprights are a nice tight fit with all holes in the right places.

Anyone interested, the supplier is called Anembo, a small West Midlands engineering company doing lots of low volume production work for rally/motorsport http://anembo-engineering.mybigcommerce.com/2wd-bi... .
I know you can't see them when everything is assembled but as I've read so many times on this site - I"I know they are there" smile
Thanks Pete for the heads up on this - much obliged.

You are most welcome. I have considered these myself, particularly when I carried out a complete suspension overhaul last winter. May go down that route when I do the brakes. Regards, Pete

Only the possible expansion rates v tolerances of ali v steel, but if they are made taking that into account then should be fine !?!?

Other than that, corrosion rates.....how long do you think you will keep your car with them on....only you know ?.....and that depends on mileage / wet usage / garage conditions etc etc
