Hi Guys, I need to replace the two door switches on the Griff (corrosion causing chattering of solenoids etc). I had a spare in stock bought ages ago for a few pounds and have fitted that but needed another. Having trawled all the TVR outlets I see that the typical price is about £15 plus VAT!! So knowing this switch is originally a Vauxhall part I carried out an investigation of usage and have discovered it was used extensively on Lotus models (particularly the Elise). So, having looked at various Lotus spares outlets it seems that Lotus charge a realistic price for this switch. I found there was a Lotus spares outlet just a few miles from where I live, gave them a call and voilla, the switch is £4.95 incl VAT! I am getting 4, which is not much more than one from the usual TVR outlets. The guy said that he gets Vauxhall people go to him also. He has the standard indicator and wiper stalk/switch assemblies for £20 (Lotus use these as well as TVR.

For your reference the Lotus reference for the door switch is A111M6035F.

Regards, Pete

When I open the passenger door I can hear what sounds like a solenoid thumping a couple of times - I'll have to have a look and maybe get some Norfolk-spec door switches if they're too far gone - ta smile

Today I have mostly been taking a hacksaw to my Vauxhall stalks to fit bling instead... give it 10-20 years and I'll be kicking myself for devaluing a classic.

eta switches cleaned up - no more noises thumbup Vauxhall part number is 9197594 from google.

Hi guys, received my 4 switches from the Lotus outlet yesterday. They are spot on and identical to what TVR fitted. Though they are only a few miles from me I could not get to them before they closed so opted for delivery at only £2.50. At about £25 all in for the 4 off delivered thought it great value compared to about £15+ each from TVR outlets! If Lotus can do reasonable prices why cant TVR? Regards, Pete
