Where did you source the bonnet from? Quality up to expectation? I am after a grif bonnet to experiment on - what's up with your original

Hi Ian

the original bonnet has split on the offside were the fixing goes through , the original owner pop riveted eek some stainless strips and sandwiched it together !! so I will repair this with fiber glass from the inside (proper repair) and store it .
I have gone for the vented bonnet much stronger than the original and IMO looks better ?

I like them too. If I had a Griff, one would be on the list of to do's.

We need pictures.

I'm a fan. I'm going to put one on my rebuild and store the old bonnet. I think they look good but most of all they look like they vent off all that under bonnet heat so they have got to be good. Pete

i had one on my ls griff. definitely vented a huge volume of really heated air, especially at standstill. make sure you get the brake master cylinder looked at or it'll possibly interfere. it'll just need some fettling to work.

Which brakes did you go for Ste? I've just fitted a high specification kit & the brake balance is verging on dangerous with the rears locking way before the fronts get anywhere near. I've emailed & called them today but no reply or answer yet.

When you say "looked at" - what needs changing?

A guy from Germany's coming over on the 4th to deliver them I went for 300mm groves black 4 pot with TVR engraved in red , if the back are locking up you have over done it on the rear ? Maybey you need to get a bias valve and set the percentage more to the front ?

I think it's the top of the resivor cap catching the bonnet vent ??
I think I might drop mine lower and inset the wing top to make look a better job :-)

The rears are std precat. Have had a think & recon that there's a strong possibility that due to the increase in brake fluid volume going to the front end due to 4 pots, a bias valve is the way to push more fluid forwards.

Nice bonnet btw.

Howard, the 283mm kit with Hi-Spec 4 pots is very well balanced with the larger vented rear discs up rear; certainly no need to alter biasing or anything. Yours should be even more front focused. The calipers are fine on our master cylinders.

Sorry for asking the obvious, but are the pads bedded properly and is the system bled ok? What pads are each end (I guess something super high friction up back might account for an imbalance if not same in the front)?
