Has anyone here had an Autoguard warranty and actually made a claim with them? The car I recently purchased has a 6month warranty with them and I have the option to extend. Reviews seem good very mixed so I don't want to throw anymore cash at something that won't payout should I need it.

What car, how old, and how much is the warranty?

I bought a van couple years back. 1 month into ownership it needed new top mounts and steering rack.

The top mounts were excluded but they paid up for the steering rack and wheel alignment plus the garage labour for it.

Was pretty straight forward to claim. supplied them the garage quote and sent proof of payment once I paid the garage as i claimed it myself.

Think it was around £1200 in total.

It's a 2013 Panamera. Around a grand to extend for another 12 months

Modified at all? For that price (plus the 111 point check) you could get a Porsche warranty...

At that age, and if it's under 125k miles, I'd be looking at the Porsche extended warranty first, which also includes UK & European breakdown cover.

Thanks all. I hadn't realised that you could buy a warranty from Porsche unless you bought the car from them directly. Have spoken to my local dealer and booked my 111point check.

Aftermarket (non manufacturer/dealer backed) warranties aren't typically worth the paper they're printed on unless you have enough time and money to meet them in court.

i agree... had a car which needed a new a/c condenser. Because it said in the smallprint that *regassing of a/c system is not included in the warranty, they would not cover any other part of the a/c system to be replaced. Some also have limits on hourly rates at garages. Absolutely useless unless it's a manufacturer warranty.

I've just bought a 2013 970. Free 6 month Autoguard warranty and option to extend to 36 months for £995. That sounds a relative bargain, but I see it does not include 'secondary' items like display, audio, air con, lights.
