just bought myself a new laptop and am currently learning its foibles - one of the things is that it's got pre-installed W11, not that that is a problem, and Bing as the default browser... Again Bing isn't a problem per se (I'm just more comfortable with Firefox).

The question is is there any good reason stick with Bing over Firefox or t'other way round? Is there a reason to have Opera instead?

I guess, long story short - what recommendations are there for the default browser for the (relatively) non-tech savvy?

I stick to Firefox because of all of the add-ons. The adblocker is a particular highlight, I've not seen an ad in years (inc on YouTube)

I can't see that changing to Edge is going to give you a better browsing experience than you currently get with Firefox.

Brave is my default general use browser for its built-in ad blocking and cookie banner suppression. It's Chromium based, same as Edge and Chrome.

Firefox with Betterfox user.js https://github.com/yokoffing/BetterFox is my default development browser.

The only time I use Edge is when I'm using co-pilot and want it to access the webpages I'm looking at.

Interesting you should mention Opera because I feel it gets overlooked. I've been using it since V5 and never found it lacking, I'm now on V109.
