Has anyone had any dealings with this mob as trying to buy a car off them is like trying to get blood out of a stone...

Not dealt with them myself but I've heard a lot about them and if what i've heard is to be believed they're to be well avoided!
Thanks bobbo - starting to get that indication...

Thanks for the feedback guys -really helps as I am getting a taste of all the comments.

3 month warranty doesnt do them them a favour at all - for the calibre of cars they have, should be 6 month minimum

FunkyRobot - empathise with where you are coming from and totally agree that the buying experience is part of the transaction however when the product target specification matches 100% the search criteria, one tends to endeavour to make it happen.

Since posting, the process isn't with Shak but the seller (third party deal) or so I am led to believe. Still, it all needs a kick.

Will be revisiting in a few weeks

My thoughts now in this path. Despite trying to cut a deal and give them money, they just arent interested. And I thought Audi dealers were difficult to deal with/call me back. These guys clearly dont need the business...

To all the respondents on this thread getting good service - maybe I am dealing with the monkey and not the organ grinder. Can you give me the contact who you have dealt with.

Yes - I saw that too some weeks ago in my research. It's been (another) 4 days (total about 1 month now) and still waiting on them to call me back with a price on the car I am interested in. Starting to wonder if it's theirs to sell...

Comments noted

You do endeavour to go the extra mile BUT in reality the communications were less than stellar. Messages left and not replied to and I had to do all the number crunching every step of the way to make the deal happen right to the 11th hour and 59th minute.

There is also a disingenuity with the numbers stated in the negotiation as a tactic to get me to upgrade my offer ie that you state you will only get xxxx for it in trade-in yet now I see my car on your site at exactly the retail price I suggested and allowing for cost of the sale you will make a good margin

In conclusion I also believe if I had not written my professional closure email the deal would have been dead in the water ie it should have been Shaks writing the email to rescue the deal.

The final reason the deal went through was through my personal tenacity and the fact I had checked the provenance of the car through my own contacts ie I had to separate the purchasing process from the actual product.

You may have a good range of high-end stock but if you want to move to the next level you need to add resource to your sales team as 1 guy cannot field transaction calls and sell cars

In conclusion, I am very happy with the car but only because of the research I did, and battling hard to get the service included which at the end of the day I even had to downgrade to find you the numbers you were looking for post deal agreement.

I trust you will take the above comments constructively and look forward to all the documents promised in the post in the next few days.

Regards
P Redding

Comments noted however when I receive a call yesterday evening from Adam, a full WEEK after the deal is closed, asking where the tax disc is for the car I traded-in, when it was clearly stated twice during the transaction that there was no tax, this is a classic example of the kind of niggling communications I had throughout the deal and selective memory loss.

Your claim of 'financial loss' can be matched by the £500 loss I had to make at the 11th hour and 59th minute on the deal when Shaks reneged on the agreed trade-in price, citing slight wear on the two front wheels of my car; this would have been an acceptable comment EXCEPT for the matching observation I made on the car I bought from you which had scratches on the rear offside wing, many bonnet chips and fuel filler scratches and corrosion not specifically mentioned which would have been far in excess of the £500 Shaks were asking to repair my car. I even offered to go 50/50 on this and was turned down flat forcing me to reduce the full Audi service as agreed to a simple oil change service to find Shak's the numbers.

Like I said above I did all the hard work to find the numbers.

After a great weekend away, I had just managed to put this experience behind me but Adam's call last night just confirms all my experiences that, save for it being a great car, the buying process was anything but.

If you can let me have your personal email address (Adam has my email), please feel free to contact me direct to take this offline
