Two of our vehicles have been invaded this year , two people caught in jan (cost the driver £1600 in fines) and another three caught a couple of weeks ago.This despite TIR cords on the curtain sides.
Now the guys returning via this port are banned from stopping within 50 kms
of the ferry terminal.

Our guys are issued with a kit with multiple seals ,padlocks and a curtain repair kit , they also must complete an intruder check sheet at EVERY stop whilst in Europe .
Yet the Mayor of Calais maintains we Brits don't do enough, yet our immigration and customs officers in France detect far more than the french authorities do when working in France .

There have been a few problems at the tunnel in the past, but nothing like Calais.
It seems that the french look at it as not their responsibility as the offenders are only transiting the area .
I do wonder how it would go if we ever left the EU .The freedom of movement rubbish could be fun if it ended at the channel, would it become a french problem then or would they just shut their eyes to it as they do at the present.
