A year ago I delivered a TL1000S to an elderly guy who then admitted he probably couldn't get on it but if not he would just look at it in his garage (I offered to take it back at the time)

He's now contacted me to say could I take it back and supply something else as he can't get his leg over it

He's an ex bike racer who's late 70s and doesn't want a scooter or a cruiser but is struggling with seat height and bike weight

Has anyone got any suggestions ideally sub £3k the smaller and lighter the better

Just checked and the TL is only slightly higher at 820mm so I don't think a 800mm will be low enough to get his leg over

Shame because I think a 390 Duke would be ideal

He's a lovely guy so I'd like to get him back on a bike if I can

Looking at the suggestions shows how few options there are

Lots of the low seat suggestions have a raised passenger seat so it's still awkward to get on

The Ducati scrambler is an option but over his budget

He wants to ride with his mates on big bikes so a Grom etc isn't going to work

The problem with so many bikes isn't just the seat height but the even higher pillion so throwing a leg over is difficult.

I expect he will love the scooter, everyone who rides one does.
Agreed

I've ridden many, I've got two in the garage, one is a 600 still a hateful thing - better than walking but that's it
