I've had the fuel tank out from my early precat to fit the fuel rail bridge as fitted to later Griffs. This is the brass up and over pipe to help with clearance of the lower wishbone, fitted between tank and pump.
The original 22 year old piece of hose looked like machine hydraulic hose, with a steel braid between the cores, the outer core had split down to the braid in the area between boot exit and wishbone but had not leaked. All replacement pipe I could find was of normal 2 core construction so due to the close proximity of the wishbone thought I'd try the bridge piece. In situ the bridge does not straddle the wishbone centrally, it is off centre to the front of the car but still gives about 12mm clearance with the suspension loaded, I dont know if the later cars exhibit this or if the tank stub is shorter or in a slightly different position but at least there is now some clearance so will see how it goes, only downside is that there are now 4 clip points instead of 2 on this short pipe run and you have to watch the handbrake cable position, I think they are dressed slightly differently on later cars.

Daz, no did'nt change the nipple, I worried about unscrewing the big nut and then getting a leak from there, that unribbed stub is poor though, if I ever take it out again I may do something about it, if it was a tad shorter I may have got the bridge piece to line up a bit better relative to the wishbone. I would have made a bridge pipe up myself if I had access to the flare tool, the bridge was only £6.95 but postage was the same again plus VAT for a bent piece of pipe.

Hoover, the roll over must be the valve unit behind the tank which sits in the vent pipe between filler neck and wheel arch, you should be able to suck/blow through it with the car the right way up! Closes to prevent fuel spill if you invert I suppose.
