Thanks steve, think we did meet some time back ? Looking at the odds it might be a 4.0 pre_cat but I am in no rush, as long as I have it in time for le mans as I like my BHP I might get Dom to fettle it with a charger ??
Still looking
Will be good to catch up at the meets again .
Any thoughts on nthe Paris blue one for sale on here ?

Hi Steve,
The pre cat is mine thanks for the emails...
A few ph'ers have been to view so I hope you get some decent feedback (none of them bought a pre-cat in the end though).
cheers

Yep still looking lol .... Anyone have any thoughts on this guy in the Netherlands he seems to have some reasonably priced ones over their ? Just a bit of an expense to take a peek !
I have found a blue 4.3 griff in Dundee this has had the air con removed and the alternators in the opposite side ? Any thoughts on that ,
If anyone has any input please let me know :-)
Thanks Ste .

Not sure if it helps, but I can add some context to current values (and speculation of price increases) as I privately sold my pre-cat just a couple of weeks ago.
For anyone who remembers my advert, the Paris Blue 4.0 sold (in euros) for the equivalent of approx £12,700 (which I think was a reasonable price!).
In the 2.5 years of my ownership I spent a loving ~£3,000 on servicing and improving the car with new outriggers and dashboard etc. Not to mentioned countless hours of my 'hobby time'.
Very well said , if it had been a 4.3 I would have viewed it myself :-) I have been looking with a fair budget the blue one in Dundee looks great however the underside looks like it has been in the sea !
Ste.
Did it go up in value? Yes - but basically only enough to offset my costs...
What would it have been worth if I hadn't invested in the improvements??? (I suspect about £3,000 less... - which is near enough the same as what I paid for it)
So I think talk of rising prices is largely just speculation in these forums. Obviously I'm delighted that my car returned the same investment I put into it (which may help anyone negotiating for a respray with SWMBO!), but talk of inflation busting price rises is surely just man maths (the speculation is probably fuelled by the dealers??!).
Its worth noting a frustration from a sellers perspective that I met several potential buyers who speculated with low offers irrespective of the condition of my car or considering the works completed etc. Basically there are lots of punters (tvr enthusiasts) out there expecting to find a ~£30K car (what ever that means) but with only a <£10K budget. Unfortunately for them they missed out on what I know was/is a really great car!

Looks like i had my post removed! I don't think I was shaming a particular vehicle but when the underside is like an old ships anchor the price was a tad to high IMO anyway I have a good budget of 15k to find a good solid car as I said I am fussy lol,
And no disrespect to any previous posts on herev.

Yes I have had words with the dealer the only problem it is an early one on a J plate ! And as I have my personal plate waiting on a sorn to go on a K or later it's a shame :-( http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

wont offer you mine originally on a J plate
Hoooooover wish I could find something as near as yours mate !! I have found a nice 500 mid blue with black interior sent an email no reply ? also someone on here has emailed me some photos of theirs (500) looks nice said they have a few jobs to do but hey I am not to fussy on that as long as the price reflects
their is a nice 400 with split rims looks tasty but if the price goes down I may be tempted in the 400 !! the thing is I have acquired a tvr power turbo kit to play with
Ste .
Well hoover the goalposts have changed mate !! I need a nice 4.0 Griffith possibly about 50/60000 miler if that's possible apparently the best engine to turbocharge without spending to much money on the engine I have been promised over 400 bhp ! so this will need brake upgrade and suspension etc so looking forward to this big project
All I need now is the right car

Well funny you should mention this one i have had been swapping a few emails with this company today car looks great but chassis outriggers very messy I would have to replace them I have made a trade offer on the car that's no warranty etc for well under that hoover
But still not sure of the colour ? I do like the red one but that would have to be a tad under 9k as the milage is 85000 and I bet the heads have not been off ? So I would have to do a engine re build to justify the costs !

And yet they say in the ad the chassis has been inspected and given a clean bill of health.
Not so good then
Clean bill of health = no rot holes but rusty underseal flakey and a few rusty fasteners, maybe it's me being fussy but if it was mine I would have ground fettled and cleaned the steel with a wire brush before outing on the underseal etc ??Not so good then

car look's initially great, BUT for that money I would expect un molested..... it right column stalks, door reflectors intact etc....... £13500 in my book...
Hi mate just a tad under that mate for a "trade" sale ! 7 owners 40k miles I will possibly take a look some time early next month I am not rushed but would have to bat it down as original shocks still on and bet the bushes won't be far off going , although it had a mo on it be for Xmas its last owner was 5 years ago !! Still thinking ........Ste.
