As above, been having thoughts the last few months of jumping ship back to an air cooled 911 again, either an SC, a 3.2 Carrera or ideally a 964. But ruddy heck, after lots of looking, the lack of 964s for sale ( few were sold here ) and the daft money being asked for all 3 models is simply unreal. If I do go down the 964 route ( unlikely now ) it will be a resto car.

I sold my first Griff a very nice 96 model for £12,400 In April 2008 and my 88 Carrera for £10,400 in Sept 2008 and struggled to sell it. The 911 is now £40,000 plus, but the Griff has barely risen in value, probably £16 - £18,000 now.

Your thoughts gents ? Am I the only one who thinks the Griff is still way undervalued ?

Exactly Andy !! What Else offers those stunning looks, a ground up restoration and that performance for the money ??

But Yes V8......a short wheel base, loads of torque must surely make it an animal on anything but a smooth, dry, straight road ? Shatteringly quick off of the line though!

If I had the spare £ I would buy it.

Hello Quinny, yes I recognise that type of buyer. What made you sell it ? Was there a thread on its build ? What was it like to drive ?

My one was HR Owens demo Griff. The First owner Alex Roebuck, told me he paid circa £39,800 for it @ Owens in April 1998.

Hello Quinny, knee ( and also in my case knee and knackered back problems ) how familiar !

How did the extra engine weight etc etc have an effect on it compared to a std one ? Did it have the Griff ( T5 ? ) gearbox ? And who did the conversion ?

Re E Types, I have owned 9 and I was heavily involved with them for quite a while and yes I would love an Opalescent silver blue 3.8 roadster, but they Just aren't worth the silly money being asked for them.
