I am off to the Black Forest Sunday in the Griff, really looking forward to it, roads and scenery look great, stopping over night in Luxembourg and meeting a few fellow TVR owners who live there, checked all the fluids, tyre pressures, treated her to a new number plate as well, just need to get her all shiny as there are a few Fezzas and Morgans on the trip too so she has got to look her best, could do with a front end re-spray after I let my son drive it full of stone chips from a newly gritted road he drove down 6 inches behind another car

Car looks fantastic.
Have a great trip, the Black Forest is fantastic, we have had a couple of S Eurotours go through there. Great driving roads and plenty of wide open corners, so you can see what is coming the other way.
But keep it a secret.
Thanks, its has just had the engine rebuilt and got an ACT Triple Plenum so it is quite quick Have a great trip, the Black Forest is fantastic, we have had a couple of S Eurotours go through there. Great driving roads and plenty of wide open corners, so you can see what is coming the other way.

Hi Gary
Looks like you had a lovely break and the weather - in the pictures at least - played fair.
I'm really just keeping the ol' Griff in good working order, trying to refresh a few bits of trim that are a bit tired but keeping it as original as possible.
It's been very reliable overall although it has refused to start on a couple of occasions : once had to get the rescue people out for a dead battery and once re-started OK when it had cooled down a bit(!). It's at Dans garage at the moment for service and MOT but of course there were a couple of other bits which needed sorting (both front top mounts) and a broken rear ARB bracket that have helped to keep the bill above my expectations...
Look forward to catching up with you sometime soon.
All the best
Paul

Weather and trip was fantastic, only rained for an afternoon in Belgium and it was really heavy
Sounds usual with TVR,s and all old cars for that matter but at least it is nothing major, My Griff,s camshaft was worn so I had the engine rebuilt, then the rad sprung a leak so had an ali one fitted, had a the 1000 miles service on the Griff after engine rebuild and diff mounts had gone, T350 clutch is going so got to get that into Dan Taylor, the joys of cars
I might go to Neil Garners open day, will try and get T350 fixed as it needs a run or I will take Griff, if you fancy a run out let me know and we can meet up

Hi Gary
Was it you that was dropping off the T350 yesterday at Dan Taylor's (23rd)? I was there at the time with my friends Chim. Dan mentioned the guy he had been speaking to had just returned from the Black Forest. We had just got off the ferry from the S Eurotour; and as I said in my earlier post (above) had also previously been to the Black Forest. What a place, it sounds like you enjoyed it too.

Yes it was me who dropped off the Black T350, we both think a finger has broken on the clutch, I will find out this morning, what is your friend having done with the Chim, the S Eurotour sounded great fun, I am looking at drive Espana or Italy next year, yes Black Forest is great I would go back but want to do other trips, maybe meet up one day as your in Kent, we are going to Neil Garners open day Saturday and meeting at Clackets 8.30am if you fancy it, don,t know how many coming along

Hi Gary
My friend had a clonking from the front (loose brake caliper) and it was handling like a dog and scrubbing tyres, which turned out to be his toe-in was set to 35 degrees . So much for the well known and respected TVR specialist that had set it up fairly recently. He was dropping me off at my place in Maidstone and I took him to meet Dan. Fortunately Dan had time to take a look and resolved both issues. A bit annoying that he has trashed two fairly new tyres. To think he was blaming it on my enthusiastic driving style up the mountains.
NG open day sounds attractive, if I can get through my list of jobs I will meet you at CL. It was a great day out last year!

Must have clonked on braking badly then, had the same thing with my T350 tracking was out but lucky as I did not like the handling after the tracking was done by someone else and I noticed more wear on the inside of the tyres and got Dan to check it was out by about 5 degrees
Ok if you make it see you at Clackets, I will get there 8.30am and leave 8.45
I am always out and about at weekends either in my Griff or T350 so if you fancy a drive out let me know
I have a Cerb also but I am selling her as just not using her
