NOW ARRANGED FOR SUNDAY 28th MARCH

I've recently bought myself another Ferrari - this time with a stunningly loud Capristo exhaust and to celebrate thought I'd organise a 'Hampshire tunnel run' biggrin I need your help to identify as many good tunnels as possible in (or near) Hampshire so I can design an ear bleedingly loud route driving

Here are my current thoughts:

Proper tunnels:

A272 somewhere near Bramdean?

Springvale Rd Kings Worthy

Well House Lane Kings Worthy

Very short one A3090 on leaving Romsey

Wide road bridges:

Picket Post and Bolderwood under A31 New Forest

Jnc1 M27

Chestnut Avenue, Chandlers Ford

Leigh Road, Chandlers Ford

Any more ideas, please add smile I'll announce a date when the weather improves...

What model Ferrari did you get notax ?

Shame the Hindhead tunnel isn't open yet, (although not quite in Hampshire). wink

I'll ask around and see if there are any additions to those already mentioned.

I don't know if you've been there or if you've just found it through internet searching, but I really wouldn't bother with that one! About a 3 metre run from the junction one side and it has a cattle grid on the other.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the above - have you still got the Viper? Hope the tyres are in a better state than when I saw you after the slalom! I think we have enough ideas for me to sort a route - I'll just wait until the weather is a bit more predictable... Be good to catch up biggrin

I've just bought my second F355 GTS. This one is mid life crisis Red with cream carbon fibre race seats - and the Capristo is awesome driving

Hindhead should be a good addition - when is it due to open?

I agree, Picket Post is pretty hopeless, Bolderwood is better - speed limit is still 40 but at least it's picturesque (especially with a load of supercars zooming along biggrin)

Yes, yes and sounds good!..well, IT WILL SOUND GOOD i'm sure smile new 1 louder than the Tiv then? Think HHead's due in 10 but the adjoining road network will set the full opening back to 11 and it'll probably be 2nd gear stuff only (not bad tho..!) with the cameras they'll have in there.....
.....just looked up:

Hindhead is due to open in time for the oylmpics - 2011 due to the south coast holding sailing events.

That's a long wait for a run! Isn't there a tunnel near Brighton, I remember going through one on the way to the Bright Speed Trials.... Vague I know.

Southwick Tunnel thumbup It's a bit out of the way from the rest of the run, but if you incorporated that and a hoon around the roads near Brighton marina & heading North or East of Brighton, you'd have a quite a pleasant hoon.

I know I have wink

Very nice. One of the best Ferrari road cars ever made. When the Hindhead tunnel is open in 2011, it'll be worth a trip just for that alone 1.1 miles in your new 355 and your ears will be bleeding along with everyone else in the tunnel at that time ! wink

I'd be up for this being so local!

One I can think of is Stoneham Lane which goes under the M27 by Eastleigh Football club.

Oh, and under West Quay in Southampton, that would be quite funny!
