This took a long time to get sorted out. I'm guessing the details will soon follow.

Was trying to find it. Did it get nuked?

Seven murders, six attempted and four undecided according to jury.

Not giving a comment on the case itself as nobody else has in this thread, so I'm not sure if it's allowed, but (in the BBC link) I didn't think the video of Letby's arrest added much in terms of public interest, I wonder why that was released.

What happened to the previous thread?

Can't say i'd have enjoyed being on the jury for this one....

rolleyes why was the previous thread binned?

Amazing it took so long, the trial was never ending. Her parents clearly believe she is innocent, must be so hard to take.

I'll never get how someone can be that mental to do that and how they would even get to that point. Second she's in she'll either be unalived instantly or be attacked regularly

Presumably the previous thread was binned because people were discussing a live case?

There's a reason the BBC and co have opened the floodgates with their Letby coverage now that there has been a verdict. Discussing live cases risks prejudicing a jury who might see stuff online and draw inferrences beyond what they see and are told in the courtroom.

I think that was the reason.

They're saying several doctors had previously raised concerns about her treatment of babies, but no action was taken.

It must be hard to accept that a member of your own family would be guilty of crimes like these.

I can't imagine what motivates someone to act that way.

Indeed this article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66120934 details it. They were even made to apologise to her!!

This was posted on twitter by Richard Gill. One of the guys involved in helping overturn the conviction of the Dutch nurse https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucia_de_Berk

Whether this conviction will follow a similar path in future?

Wouldn't surprise me, but I hope she gets some mental help also because that sort of thing is seriously awful.

I don't see why it would be worth bothering.
