The reason I mention this is, in about 1999 I was working for an Audi dealer and was asked by Nottinghamshire Constabulary to quote them for the supply of a new Audi A3 1.8T quattro. I was specifically asked not to include the cost of plates/RFL. I queried why and was told that they would arrange this as more than one number would be assisgned.
I stand to be corrected however and I could be remembering the facts incorrectly.

Two more
1) - Spotted between J2 & J1 of M6 --Dark blue Mondeo (possibly ST ??), didn't get reg ,but mates at work tell me it's also been seen in Rugby ,so possibly works southern end of M6
2) Scamera warning to anyone using B4114 in/out of Nuneaton .Vans have started using the wide pavement area opposite Leyland road /Waverly avenue as a base .Its either a ploy to catch traffic coming out of town ( 150 yds max from corner ) or one to catch traffic into town coming from a 40 to a 30 .Either way - seen them there twice this week approc 1400.

Although it does surprise me, I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand, for example 20TU is often swapped round various Bentley press cars as a "trade plate"I stand to be corrected however and I could be remembering the facts incorrectly.

Interesting - be ok if they had several of same make/type -otherwise RFL not going to match car ,irrespective of plate and RFL matching . e.g - plate =RFL = AB12 XYZ ,BUT RFL says Volvo ,but car is A3 ????-Now if that wereJoe Public ???? n I stand to be corrected however and I could be remembering the facts incorrectly.

Nice one slart, what colour was it? Davidson
sorry, forgot to mention the colour, it was black.i couldn't tell it was plod until i passed it and saw the stripped armbands he was wearing so keep any eye out for any motorbikes that seem to be going slow and loitering in the inside lane as chances are it'll be plod.
actually keep any eye out for anything sporty or nice looking loitering in the inside lane as they are often plod too, i found out to my expense this time last year as a silver scooby WRX pulled me up and gave me 3points and £60 fine for 83mph in a 70.

about 3 weeks ago, i spotted a black Saab Aero Convertible (!!!) that had pulled someone over on the M42 between J3 and J2. I've also seen 2 Focus ST's (Both 3 door, one silver on bright blue) on the same stretch and a metalic Red 5 series saloon with a really expensive plate in for a service at Robert Sterns BMW Worcester (AB1 or 1AB - can any one check that out?) all plain cars.
Couldn't belive my eyes when i saw the Saab cab with the blue's and two's flashing away...
