Well done !
This is exactly why e-bikes are great, despite what the ‘You’re cheating’ mafia want you to believe.

Given a renewed focus on Zone 2 cardio from the fitness community, there's probably an argument that e-bikes could be better for some people in terms of overall fitness, health and longevity given that they may be swapping shorter, higher heart rate work for longer, lower heart rate stuff...

I broke a chain so was out on the acoustic this week, and was surprised to see my heart stats were lower despite higher perceived effort.

So on my emtb i ride for longer at higher heart rate.

I'm happy to accept this might be an outlier but it seems it's working out for me

Believable.

I ride mine like I'm possessed, all the time I'm like "LETS GOOOOO" and so I'm always working.

The regular bike I seem to ride more chill and have more of a habit of sticking it in an easy gear for the climbs and just spin away at fairly slow speeds.

I did 10 miles of trails on mine a couple of nights ago. Nothing different as far as distance goes but rode with a few guys who were a level or two up on my comfort zone both in terms of ability and pace. I don't think I've ever worked as hard nor felt as broken afterwards. So yes, absolutely... regardless of how unnecessarily powerful the bike is, the more you put in, the more you'll get back. But, despite feeling like I'd been hit by a bus... absolutely loved it and that, for me, is all that really matters.

It doesn't really matter does it. As long as we're getting out and enjoying it, it's all good!

E-bikes enable more riding fun - climbs become enjoyable and technical climbs even more so.

We ride both analogue and e-MTB’s and the ‘workout’ is similar using both types of bikes.
The difference using the e-bikes is we can ride many more laps and have more fun. E.g. several laps of CwnCarn in Wales on electric vs, one lap on our analogue bikes.
