With a suitably strong wee dram, I binged series two last night.

Despite the cliches, I found it entertaining! Lots of Mercedes love in the car choices.

Seems to be setting up for another series?

Season 2 was much 'lazier' than season 1 for me. The first series wasn't exactly Shakespeare but had some subtleties and intersting character development. I enjoyed s2 but felt it was 'gangster by numbers'. Very formulaic and everyone was a caricature

Half way through S2 and enjoying it more. Seems a bit more fast paced, more action and grittier. Bren is great as balances out the wet wipes of frank and jimmy. You also chop and change from hating him and wanting him taken down to then loving his bluntness and no BS approach.

Also if you enjoyed this, try Love/Hate on itvX. Aslo stars Aiden Gillen but as quite a different character to Frank.

I thought it was better than Kin..... (thread on Love/Hate below)

I did chuckle at Vikings 320D alternating between clattering diesel and dubbed 340i.

Only other cringe factor was rory’s silenced double tap panning to him with an unsilenced pistol.

Binged S2 yesterday and I think it's better than the first. Bren was about a foul a person as you could wish to meet. Pure evil. S3 is apparently being filmed.

Thanks for that. I watched up to S2 before it vanished so can finish it now.

I thought the character was just pure caricature, almost panto villain material. Still liked the programme hugely but very formulaic this time

Figure of speech... beer It was, for me, a 'Rise of the footsoldier' type, lazy, easy to play baddie. Bet the actor was running his hands at the chance. 'He's behind you....' smile

This!

I thought Love/Hate was fantastic! Better than Kin. First few episodes slow to get going but when it does….

I’ve seen comparisons that it’s the Irish version of The Wire which it certainly isn’t but some tenuous similarities.

Anybody watching this one? Irish drama revolving round a feud between 2 crime families, it's really good so far although it's a bit of a struggle to work out the relationships between the main family members.
Started this last week.

Seemed a bit samey to usual crime dramas but I like dubbers and the lead woman with the funny birthmark in her emerald lingerie on the opening scenes kept me interested.

Enjoyed S2 although it was Bren that made it.
