Large overnight attack on Russia using drones. Ukraine seems to be able to launch increasing amounts of drones into Russia.
IMHO Ukraine should do more targeted attacks on Russia.Large overnight attack on Russia using drones. Ukraine seems to be able to launch increasing amounts of drones into Russia.
They cant hide power stations etc being bliwn up from the public if done at scake.
Steer clear if civilians tho
This should be something that it's allies can help with. One way drones made on mass across Europe if needs be make them out of fibreglass.
Help them ramp up to make a really significant difference.

It’s possible they’ve had the ability for some time, but the concern over getting the required support form the USA tied their hands, somewhat. Now that’s agreed, the gloves are off.Large overnight attack on Russia using drones. Ukraine seems to be able to launch increasing amounts of drones into Russia.
I'm guessing they'd like to get to the point where they can do that many every night.

They need to find where these glide bombs are being made or stored and target that.

These are possibly the best weapon Russia have for their horrible warfare methods. Cheap and destructive.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz5drkr8l1ko
Can NATO kit mess with their guidance or Ilraine target the airfields the fighters use?
Unfortunately Russia has plenty of the FAB 1500, and will generally be launched within Russia or well away from the frontline. They are also horrificly powerful.
The only good points are they aren't the most accurate and the range is 'only' around 70km

I guess ATACMS taking out SAM’s in unison with F16’s might make a meaningful difference.

Latest report I have seen is that F16’s may be in Ukraine in July. I have no idea what the range of the air to air missiles they can carry is…maybe that will help. I think these glide bombs have a range of about 50km. Obviously the 16’s wou;d need to steer clear of Russian SAM systems.

They might even use F16s to kill the SAM sites.I guess ATACMS taking out SAM’s in unison with F16’s might make a meaningful difference.

The plus is significant as in an ideal scenario I don’t think 400km would be ridiculous.
It’s a serious bit of kit that no Russian pilot will want to be the wrong end of.

Not sure F16 needs to steer clear of Russian SAM, they have been the Wild Weasel for years now.I guess ATACMS taking out SAM’s in unison with F16’s might make a meaningful difference.

Only if they’re configured and trained for that mission, the jet is a platform. There’s some great reading out there on the wild weasel missions, just having F16s doesn’t mean Ukraine can suddenly perform the same missions the US does.Boozy said:

Yup, but I would imagine that this is one of the missions they will have been trained for? It seems like useful way for Ukraine to deploy them???You’d imagine the US would be absolutely delighted to let Ukraine deploy Wild Weasel F16’s and Meter AAM’s against Russian planes/SAM batteries. I guess the only issue is that the Russian planes are presumably releasing the Glide Bombs from well within Russian airspace but Blinken implied this week that there was a change of policy about using US weapons to hot targets inside Russia.
Hopefully the first thing the Russians know about this is when there SAM batteries start going bang and they lose a few planes.

I thought Russia reported that the attack has been unsuccessful with all the missile's being shot down?
The missiles were successfully intercepted by aircraft.Anyone know why Russia would park Aircraft in easy range? I can't believe they're so short of fuel they can't manage the extra 150 miles or so to land them out of range of most stuff? Or do they park them nearby and concentrate their AD?

The deeper problem for Russia is that this roll out of the "Chevy Caprice" F-16s into Ukraine is not being balanced by the Russians getting the "BYD"Chinese J-20s to back fill their losses either and the F-16s do have the range to reach out and touch Moscow from Ukraine, hence TAAS stating that they view the F-16 as a nuclear capable aircraft even though no one has given Ukraine nuclear armaments.
