I've been spraying on white vinegar & water mix, scrubbing, to get rid the the green. It works, but takes a while. Is there an easier way?

Active ingredient is Benzalkonium Chloride - just buy it in an 5l container and dilute as instructed, works out cheaper than Wet & Forget.

I mixed bleach with water 50:50 and painted it on last year. It didn't take long. I've had no problems since and it hasn't returned.

Neighbour jet washed theirs at the same time and theirs is worse than ever.

Out of interest - what dilution rate do you use? I have a tub but the label isn't very specific.

If it's anything like wet and forget, it's 5 to 1.

40:1 in most situations.

I’ve seen people mention as high as 20:1

Some of our fences are almost completely green from algae. I quite like it, I appreciate it will reduce their lifespan, but they were put up in 1984 and still going strong. Apart from a few post that have been replaced from storm damage, the panels are fine.

I recently diluted it at 40:1 sprayed it on Yorkstone paving slabs using a pump garden sprayer, left it and I can't beleive how effective it's been. The stone slabs are now completly clean.

Will give 40:1 a go today and see how I get on. It's to remove green build up on the North side of our white painted house.

How quickly did you see the results?
