Berlin, flughaven express connects you to the Sbahn/Ubahn network.

Barcelona as well.

The big problem is the UK. So few airports here are convenient for PT. For me it's only Gatwick and physically I'm closer to Heathrow.

Is that what you fancy or everything suggested? If the latter then you need krakow and vienna on their wink
Vienna is on the list.

Does Krakow have the rail link? Without looking back at the thread, wasn't that the one where the Uber was suggested?

The list is basically every airport with a decent rail/tram/metro link suggested in the thread. I need to do my research now and see what I fancy! (Though my summer holiday in the UK has still a few bits to be finalised so the October break may take a back seat for a while). Will definitely update this at some point though...Maybe some pics to follow in Octobersmilesmile

I'm going to flagrantly ignore the OP's requirements and suggest La Rochelle; there's a very convenient bus and the airport is so close you could probably walk if you were particularly stingy. Stuff to do and see year round, Ile De Re is very pretty as is the old town and even out of season there's good food available. Lovely sandy beaches and the water is bracing rather than freezing at that time of year.

Eurostar service? Straight to the centre of Paris. Or do Bruselles then Bruges
Or Amsterdam. We did this a couple of weeks ago - much easier, much less faff and much more relaxing than flying, plus you get to actually see stuff out the windows too.

Krakow does have a rail link. It’s to the main station which is at the top of the old town and takes about 20 mins. The two of us who mentioned Uber were highlighting how cheap it was by way of an alternative.

Definitely second Berlin.

Great city and getting around it, as well as to and from the airport is a piece of cake.

Lisbon might be worth adding to the list. Airport has a metro station right outside the main terminal & is close to town anyway.

Amsterdam is easy, leave plane jump on train downstairs, hop off 15 minutes later and walk to dam square etc or onto a tram if needed.
Problem with Schipol is it takes longer to taxi to your gate and also queue for immigration than flying from London. Amsterdam is a great city nonetheless and Dutch public transport is brilliant. Compare Schipol with Rotterdam where you can do both of the above in less than 5 minutes. Well connected to Delft, The Hague & Amsterdam too.
Is there a good public transport link at Rotterdam now? Last time I was at the airport it was either a taxi or a bus,
Just come back from a trip on the Eurostar direct to Rotterdam however, and that worked really well.

Consider Findel airport in Luxembourg. The tram line isn't finished yet but there's an excellent bus service into the city. Better still, all public transport here is free.
Ssssshhhhh .... it's our secret!

Another idea: fly from Birmingham...

..no, really:

You can get a train to bham international to start the holiday, then get the monorail for the 2min journey to the airport, then fly from there.

Train-monorail-fly-train.

Malaga train station is just 100 meters outside the arrivals.
2-3 minute walk.
Its then a 10 minute train ride to Torremolinos

Barcelona airport has a train station in it which I have used to both take me into the centre, or with a connection to Sitges.
We arrived in Barcelona 2 days ago.
Its actually 2 trains.
1st out the airport to Llobregat then take another train down to Sitges, where we are right now.
Done this loads of times.
Dead easy.
