When you're walking from A to B on the pavement and the person(s) in front are smoking, it's hard to avoid. The same with douche vape smoke. Cross the road you say - well what if there's only one pavement. Hang back you say - well you just get caught behind the next smoker/vapist.

You should only be allowed to smoke outdoors if you are say 25m from another person. If that is difficult then tough. And fixed penalty notices for all the tards smoking/vaping just outside the exit door of businesses.

Wow.

Didn’t expect these responses. Just shows how wrong I was!

Turns out that people find the smell genuinely offensive and awful.

Looks like I’ll have to apologise to the parents…

Yep, I hate the smell and hate what it stands for. Both my parents smoked. I was feeding my mum her last meals in the hospice as she was dying from lung cancer.

Smokers are fking idiots.

It's also the selfishness of it and you can bundle that with arrogance. Some of my friends vape. They start off by moving away from the group and vaping on the periphery and blowing the steam train smoke away. Then they circle in and stand as normal and don't bother making every effort to blow the smoke away. I went on a stag do where the main group all vaped - that's 16 out of 20 of them.

Sometimes i question whether there is a need for the nicotine hit or just being seen to be doing the same thing as your peers, or Freudian penis envy and the need to suck on something. biggrin It's interesting watching them bum vape juice off each other and seeing who is organised or not. On the whole my observations are than 95% off them are disorganised and bum vape juice off the one guy.

I'm an ex smoker and for the first 2 years after quitting, i would have killed for a cigarette
Then the cravings were gone and ever since, if i walk through someone's smoke it make me gag. It's also just as bad for you as actually smoking.

However, as an ex smoker, i'll just avoid smokers corner and let people carry on smoking, i'm not about to start making loud comments or trying to lecture people that they shouldn't be doing it

I'll not tell them not to, but they are still fking idiots.

It's not a nice smell and I'm glad they banned it in restaurants.

But outdoors, whatever. I don't own the outdoors and there are other things I'd ban before smoking if I was that way inclined.

This is quite an issue when walking to and from any London train or tube station. You often have to walk through a cloud of stench before entering and exiting as well.

Smoking is a mug's game.

I gave up my bedroom for my gran when she was dying with lung cancer. I was 12.

I had to feed her in the morning, come home at lunch and get her to the bathroom, hold her while she hacked up lumps of "matter" into a kidney bowl and turn her to avoid sores.

The smell of smoking reminds me of her flat and ultimately what it does to you.

It stinks and smokers have breath that smells of hot dogst

I love it. As an ex smoker, 15 or so years now I would happily smoke again tomorrow so the smell of a fag, especially just lit, there is nothing better. Vapes however make me want to hurl.

Even raspberry mocaccino?

hehe

BTW, I'm not a vape fan at all. I replaced the windscreen on a 993 and the owner wanted to hang around. He couldn't seem to converse without inhaling a lung full of vapor at the end of each sentence.

I've been around smokers most of my life (parents / uncles /aunties) all smoked and when younger it never really bothered me. I've never smoked.
Now, I can walk into my house and can tell instantly if my parents have been around the second I walk in the door. Bear in mind they aren't allowed to smoke IN the house, they will have had a cigarette in the back garden.
The smell is foul.

Its worse when you're sat on an outdoor table of a restaurant and a smoker is with their family, and blows smoke over their shoulder away from the table, but just comes over to yours.

Blow your smoke onto your own fking kids! Not other peoples

Also annoying when someone in a group has a vape and its somehow normalised that we're all covered in cherry pineapple unicorn piss vapour every two seconds

Sometimes I find it intolerable, sometimes I do t mind it, sometimes it’s exciting and sometimes it just remind me of my youth (most of my friends do smoked, I didn’t).
I don’t miss my clothes stinking of it after going out, though.
Though I suppose I don’t go out anymore either smile
At least only the very roughest of pubs still smell like pubs that don’t smell of cigarette smoke anymore, now, though.

Sorry but I really dislike the smell and actively try and avoid it if I'm out and about. It smells and lingers on your clothes long afterwards.

It doesnt bother me. I dont when sober, but do enjoy one or two when i've had a few beers. I'm not of an age where smoking was legal indoors, so find it amusing when you're at an old bar somewhere on the continent and the ash trays come out after a certain time.
