Anyone had a hair transplant?
Discussion
Beckham apparently had it done a few years ago, and didn't last. His hair now keeps going and appearing within days in different photos, so not sure if a wig or fibres or what?
So if someone like him with the best surgeon couldn't do it, what are the success rates?

the best combination was to have a hair transplant AND use Propecia and/or finasteride to stop losing the bits around the transplant.
Does Propecia still mess your manhood up? I read previously that guys lose their erections, and its permanent even if you stop taking it.Friend: how's the date going?
Girl: great he's gorgeous and sweet and funny and has the most amazing hair, think he might be the one.
Next day
Friend: so how was last night, you gonna see him again.
Girl:.......ermm...no

How did you find the whole experience out there? Genuinely interested...
Fortunately I went with my girlfriend because I didn’t leave the hotel other than 3 trips the clinic and then back to the airport But the hotel was really nice (5* apparently) and the clinic staff were all very friendly. Would have been slightly improved if they had more staff that spoke fluent English but everything was well explained and I was treated very well
I’m pretty sure when I googled it that the cost of the treatment was the equivalent of 6 months pay for the average worker there
When I visited, there was a guy from Manchester, one from California, Hong Kong and various other places, it seems to be a very highly regarded clinic

Do men still worry about losing their hair?
I shaved off my thinning hair 15 years ago and I've never missed it.
I’ve had a shaved head for long periods brides and luckily I think I can pull it off....but I just look better and feel better with hair, it’s all about personal preference I shaved off my thinning hair 15 years ago and I've never missed it.
My uncle and a good friend have both had it done.
Friends looks ‘alright’ after about 4 years, it’s thin but thicker than it was (he’s about 30 now).
My uncle has his late 2018 and I saw him at Christmas and it looks brilliant!
I’m lucky mine hasn’t yet started to thin / recede but if it did I’d have it done.

Thanks for all the info.
I've been advised to take propecia for 6-8 months before this UK clinic will consider a transplant. As per a previous comment, I'm worried about the effects on the manhood.....
As per everything on the internet, I've read anything for it affecting less than 1% of men to reading stories of permanent damage...... Who's right?? Who knows!

Let me guess, they’ll sell you a subscription to the drug for only £50 a month I've been advised to take propecia for 6-8 months before this UK clinic will consider a transplant. As per a previous comment, I'm worried about the effects on the manhood.....

To be fair to them they've advised I go to Boots or equivalent to get it. They've just told me the without Propecia I'll just lose the untransplanted hair over the next 10 years.... Propecia apparently makes your hair thicker etc.....Finding a good UK clinic is the tricky bit- as travelling abroad is off the cards for a while me thinks!

Do you think people would be paying over £10k for hair transplants in the UK if they didn’t care? Yes of course it effects some people badly, if you’re not one of them, lucky you..l
It does seem odd, though, given that so many men are now shaven-headed. Baldness in men is very common, is there really a stigma about it? Mine fell out when I was 17.
I spent childhood 1-13 having it cut on #3 then #2 and then #1. Between 13-17 I then grew it long and died it black, towards the end noticed a line appearing where it was getting thin so shaved it off on #0. I had also has numerous mohawks etc during 13-17.
I've been shaving on #0 and then eventually BIC since I was 17, I'm 31 now. During lockdown decided not to bother and let it grow! I now have the hairline of a 80 year old haha!
Think a transplant would cost me serious money, shame really would of liked to have played around with some mohawks again while working from home.
When I was in Istanbul I saw lots of people walking around who had just had a transplant (white headband on etc), seems a popular destination for it.

Ah ok that’s not so bad thenFinding a good UK clinic is the tricky bit- as travelling abroad is off the cards for a while me thinks!
I personally wouldn’t have spent the money that it costs in the UK. If I hadn’t gone abroad then I wouldn’t have bothered at all
I’m contemplating the procedure and would probably opt to go abroad to have it done. I wouldn’t take the chance on the drugs, I value my sex drive more than a head of hair!
My thinking is, even if the transplant buys me another 10 years of thicker hair without the solar panel around my crown then the price will have been worth it. I’ll be 53 in 10 years, so can reassess my feelings around being thinner on top when I get there.
