Last Tuesday I started having a tickly throat, next day felt a little rough, Thursday onwards a huge onslaught of grimness

Can’t taste or smell
Chest feels like someone is squeezing my lungs
Coughing really hurts
Chills and bone pain
Worst of all, breathlessness when sleeping, waking up every 10 mins ffs

No sign of it diminishing yet

I’m kind of happy it’s happened before Xmas break and while I have a torn calf, may as well do it all in one go lol

With great timing, caught something nasty on Monday and its laid me up for the last 2 days. Huge fatigue- Monday I slept for 16 hours and couldn't get my head off the pillow. High temperature and a nasty cough. Merry Christmas!

Half the people at the office have hacking coughs and so does everyone on the train.

And why has everyone forgotten about 2020/21 and are not even bothering to cover their mouths when coughing/sneezing.

Disgusting.

Really feel for you guys with Christmas lurgy it's always the way. I was "lucky" this year I started late November and had the worst most protracted man flu. Not deaths door stuff but had a few days off (HIGHLY Unusual for me I went in the other year with a sinus infection!) couple of weekends laid up it dragged on for 3 weeks and I'm still coughing. Beer still tasted weird which is the true sign you have full recovered of course! I was none stop coughing and just utterly drained of energy for 3.5 weeks.

Get well soon chaps anyway!

Had Covid jab , flu jab & pneumococcal jab as at risk , daughter said it sounds like you’ve Covid , tested by wife & positive , seems more like a cold , cough , runny nose & freezing cold .
Not the idea time to get it , but I’ve felt a lot worse ,
All the best to anyone feeling under the weather .

You were told you wouldn’t catch it anymore after the jab , you were lied to…you’ve erased that bit from memory though..

I caught some sort of flu when wife and I stayed over in London.

I never caught covid but this knocked me for six.

I’m now day 3 and it’s down to a cough (not the hacking cough I did have) and aching sides.

I’ve never missed Christmas celebrations but this year with 100+ year old grans it’s just was a non starter to see family.

On the plus side I have watched a lot of naffy Christmas tv and films.

Well if you’ve all got what I had up there ^ it took 2 weeks to feel back to normal (almost); just to set your expectations with timing

Not sure if I have it
Lad in my office was really run down such that I sent him home at one point.
2 weeks later he seems fine but occasionally has the cough.

My wife's been ill for about a week, lost her sense of smell but seems to be improving.

I'm on the third day
It's frustrating as each day I wake I feel 100% over it
Then I feel the cough forming which ends up hurting my chest.
I get up and it's then apparent I have a blocked nose.
Overall I think I'm past half way.
Mine feels more cold than covid.

The other 2 people seemed less snooty, so maybe covid for them.

TBF I think it's best that we forget about that period of time, not covering face whilst coughing or sneezing well yes that isn't right but that was the case before 2020...

I was like that last winter, thought I kept getting cold after cold. Would start off with a sniffle, eventually end in a sinus infection, get better and then back with the sniffles again a week or two later and repeat cycle.

Eventually spoke to a doctor about it thinking I might have a knackered immune system, turns out I just have seasonal allergies that flare up in winter. The doc recommended a few squirts of Beconase a day and it seems to have solved the problem.
