So when will De Zerbi start?
Got to be the number 1 candidate in the circumstances...?Dingu said:
That’s a really odd decision given your end to the season. Also makes a mockery of the new ownership declaring they would do it differently and give time to managers. Throwing that many new players together is always going to take time, whoever the manager.
ThisCrazy decision IMO, and the new manager causes disruption with new coaching teams, tactics and player choices.
Poch just started to sort out the team and is good with young (ie cheap) players.
Wonder if de Zerbi engineered a disagreement as you guys had tapped him up
Quite the managerial merry go round starting

It does seem like it was an uneasy relationship. some fans never liked him because he managed spurs.Didn't he start saying a few things in recent press conferences about whether he would be sacked or not.
Wonder if they just sat down and both agreed it wasn't working and to pay up his contact

Poch : 6/10 - Not brilliant but really hamstrung with injuries, so gets the benefit of the doubt. He needs to be given another season. Changing him put will achieve nothing
That aged well!I believe the problem may well have been around the World Club Cup. The geniuses that are the club management only gave Poch a 2yr contract. His contract was up slap bang in the middle of the tournament. The club had to give him an extension & he accept it now or else they could have a manager out of contract part way during a tournament.
I'm sure they were not super happy with his 1st season & he was not super happy with their interference. It has made a parting of the ways inevitable.
Gawd knows who is next, but the sooner he's on board the better. I suspect the club already know who it will be.
Bit shocked and disappointed to be honest.
But why is everyone using the term “sacked” as if the club got rid of him ? It’s by “mutual consent”.
For a start, he won’t be getting any payout from the club which he would if it was not by mutual consent. Who in their right mind would agree with a mutual consent term if there was a contract to be paid out on ?
There are a number of reasons he may have gone. He may not have liked the direction the club were going in the summer so wanted out , he may have an offer already elsewhere, he may have indicated he was not going to continue beyond his two year contract so now was the time to go. The notion it’s the clubs decision only is completely wrong.

Crazy decision.toasty said:
Poch indicated he wasn’t happy a few weeks back. I think he wanted out and the club couldn’t force him to stay.
The BBC allege that the club are after a young manager (puppet?).
I’m guessing Amorim.
Well the other story doing the rounds is that Liverpool's interest in Amorim cooled after the payment to release him from his current contract suddenly doubled overnight. Sounds about right? The BBC allege that the club are after a young manager (puppet?).

I reckon that the split was over transfer policy. He wanted to keep Gallagher / Chalobah and have more of a say and the club said no.But why is everyone using the term “sacked” as if the club got rid of him ? It’s by “mutual consent”.

Find it had to believe that some sort of compromise couldn't have been reached and IMO we'd have been better off if he'd stayed

More expensive = better.
Press will create sht up that he's been fired but as stated by a few in the thread he's left by mutual consent (the same as Di Zerbi).
Managers just haven't got the nouse that they used to have in clubs, you are basically just an employee and if you don't like it then there's the door. The Yank owners in these clubs must be the worst to deal with, look at our other rivals for that.
Can we just move on here and get behind the next manager Poch was no different to an interim like we've had before.
Looking forward we have some European football next season to watch (and moan about) and probably a few signings.

With the FFP vultures circling I'd be more concerned with who is likely to be sold when the obvious candidates for a quick profit are Gallagher and Palmer..First of all, I support Exeter and therefore have no dog in this fight at all.
But sometimes you do have to look at what goes on at some these big clubs and wonder what the hell is going on? And your team is probably the one that leaves me the most baffled.
Ok so at least you aren’t going to have pay Poch off but whoever replaces him is going to want at least some cash to splash on the players he wants, every manager does. But some cash these days probably means 300 million? 100 for someone special, then maybe an 75, a couple of 50s and 25 for the wages of a couple of loan players? I will freely admit that wouldn’t know how it would work and that 300 probably isn’t enough but in 12 months tim, you might have to do it again when you sack the new boss?
The figures are so staggering that it almost makes you think is there some sort money laundering or tax avoidance scam going on? I just can’t see how this is going to be sustainable long term even if your owners seem to have even deeper pockets than Roman especially with FFP coming over the horizon. The amounts of money seemingly being flushed on one bad decision after the next at Chelsea seems astonishing but everyone involved at a higher level just seems to shrug their shoulders and say “Normal for Chelsea’”
Everyone’s club as made mistakes down the years, Exeter some spectacularly awful ones involving fraudsters and morally ‘unusual’ pop stars and I’m not saying that’s what happening to your club but as a supporter of a team way down the pecking order if you are going to set light to another massive pile of money, could you possibly send down to the West Country instead? I
