I just realised I haven't watched a race in months, I usually just watch the 8 minute highlights on YouTube.

I suspect this one will be the same.

Not sure how they will stretch the highlights to 8 minutes if it's a typical Monaco Sunday.

That one off Senna livery - it can't be too long now before some billionaire gets his P1 wrapped to look like that.

Nice but why not Imola ?!?!?
I imagine Imola holds a darkness to the family whereas Monaco holds brilliance. Bruno seems close to the team so I have no doubt the family were consulted.

smile I do agree that using the other white and red (nearly orange) livery would have been good, perhaps there's just too much association with the sponsor though

Thanks Piap smile
Last year MV average winning margin was over 10s. Lando was just 0.7 back last time in a clean race.

Pressure will now ramp up at RB (and engineer guru is no longer around the paddock) and we may see spicier racing at the pointy end as MV gets properly tested. (OK Monaco may be spicy qualy and dull Sunday). Let's see how good a driver MV really has become and whether Horner can deliver excellent continued team performance without Newey by his side.

Maybe they didn't want to overshadow Vettel's Senna tribute weekend.

Also because Ayrton Senna = Monaco Grand Prix

Neither age nor a lairy paint job makes that Senna look any better. It's still one of the ugliest road cars around.

Thanks for the thread piap. My money would have to be on Max again, I'm not convinced the other teams are closing the gap yet, I had my hopes up in the past and they were dashed but let us see, I hope I am wrong.

In my mind I have a memory of max hitting the first part of the chicane by the pool complex for a couple of years in a row in the past?

I'm not a Max fan but he hasn't shown much weakness so far, it will be interesting to see if anyone can get inside his head if the pack closes up.

Monaco is usually not that exciting but it has a special place and a nostalgia that is unrivalled. When the race was boring when I was a kid I used to play F1 on the psx alongside it.

That Mclaren I wish it had more yellow on it it doesn't stand out for the right reasons. If it was more yellow it would be like Sennas Lotus back in the day thumbup

Let's hope Lando can bring it

For some reason I didn't expect to see pockets in f1 racing overalls. Earplugs.

I used to have a £5 note and a mobile phone in my racesuit pockets. In the event I went off/mechanical failure I'd be able to get an ice cream and phone my mum who always freaked if I didn't come round the next lap. I'm sure others will have a lucky charm or other things.

What class was this in? In a kart no way I could have had anything in my pockets, I just had earplugs and less freezing hands in briefings. The ice cream idea resonates with me biggrin
