ClimAir dark tint wind deflectors.
Thanks, I checked those but they run down the A-pillar and obstruct vision there.

Give it a month or two and the sun will be higher up = no tints required.
Until then just drive later in the morning and earlier in the evening.
Brilliant, best answer here so far. clap

The chances of you getting stopped are really remote in this day & age and should you be stopped they will no doubt ask you to remove it there and then (at the worst)
EBay I guess to buy it. ?

BTW I also fitted wind deflectors (real good quality flat ones) but they help a bit but not much.

They do not obstruct vision.

They do not obstruct vision.
How is that possible if they're tinted more than the amount allowable for the window, and also in the line of vision of the driver?

You can see through them. Don't post on here asking for help if you won't accept sensible suggestions.

Wait 5 billion years and the sun will be somewhat dimmer - although your problem (absent reincarnation) will have permanently resolved itself by then. smile

Sorry OP, couldn't resist but I share your irritation.

Some cars come with extendable visors/sliding inserts to alleviate this very occasional problem. Unfortunately mine (and presumably yours) is not one of them.

You can see through them yes, but they are tinted far more than the maximum allowable for side windows and windscreens due to such tinting impeding vision in low light and at night.

Strongly tinting the side window for a thin strip at the top is illegal because it impedes vision, but fitting a strongly tinted plastic strip down the A-pillar doesn't impede vision? Doesn't compute. The width of the tinting is immaterial, anything alongside the A-pillar affects vision to some degree.

I haven't seen any sensible suggestions yet, and no one has answered my question.

You don't look through the wind deflector.

The mythical answer you're looking for doesn't exist. My wind deflector suggestion is the most sensible, legal option. If you don't like the answer, or don't think it's sensible, then I'm sorry, but you won't like anything else that follows.

Try these:

I was going to suggest a pair of Julbo glacier sunglasses, a little more expensive but quite the classic.

All nice and legal for OP plus useful for any casual mountaineering above the snowline.

Buy clear wind deflectors and then affix very dark tinting along the top section.

Just put the visor to the side, as it's designed to do, and get used to it being ever so slightly irritating just like the other fifty million drivers in the UK manage to do?

If it's never in your line of sight then it's not going to help with the sun shining on your face.

This would work. I wonder how big wind deflectors can be? Would a deflector that covers the entire side window be legal if it were strongly tinted? They'd probably have to rely on DWDC rather than C&U.
