I have a thing for the Dacia Duster...
Discussion
I spent an hour in a Dacia dealer while my mate was in the Dentist across the road.
The Sandero has a bit of a charm about it (probably top gear associated) but everything else was horrible. Seats, dashboard, wheel TRIMS (not even real alloy), exterior quality, etc.
It's a cheap car and it shows.

ve sold plenty of them, new, pre-reg and used. they hold their value well. Do not buy a white one though, they do rust, something to do with the paint not being of a good quality. The cheap access is pretty poor though as it only comes a 1.6 petrol, but an Ambiance Diesel is still a good cheap utilitarian but still decent car to have.
The Indian built ones rust; not all of them though, Romanian built ones are fine, irrespective of colour.Butter Face said:

If you accept it for what it is, an old Clio jacked up an given a new exterior then the Dacia is astonishing value.
I drove a 2014 model about several hundred miles over a long weekend from Gloucester to Scotland, I tried hard not to let any brand snobbery clouding my judgement.
In short, It surprised me an my passengers, it proved comfortable by virtue of reasonable interior combined with a pleasant suspension set up. The 1.5dci has just about enough power to not have to thrash it constantly, is reasonably frugal an was far from the worst car I've driven!
I'd say it was easily on a par with a relative's 2004 Toyota Rav4 which I think is acceptable given a Dacia is considerably cheaper than a new Rav.
You seem to be confusing the sandero and stepway with a duster. The duster is actually the old qashqai underneath, the sandero and stepway are the old clio. I sold an Ambiance 1.6 Petrol not long back in Khaki, it looked ace. Like an Army vehicle.
Powdercoat the steels in black and it would be sorted!
Agreed Khaki is nicePowdercoat the steels in black and it would be sorted!
Could live with it in the blue either, would have to be 4WD for me though so I could fool myself into thinking I could off-road it properly if I wanted
Edited to put pics in the right order

I've recently bought a Duster Commercial (van) 4x4 too. Only had it a few days, but did a lot of research before buying.
Ticks lots of boxes and less than 1/2 the price of a new Mitsubishi L200, which was one of the other vehicles we were looking at.
Planning on jacking it up 5cm with new springs and fitting AT tyres which should improve the off-road ability. I am not expecting it to be like a Defender, but should do what I need it to.

I had a Duster access 4x4 for just over 2 years, basic but enjoyable. 1.6 petrol is not very economical but cheap servicing and insurance. Was away for 3 months in total for rust repair including 4 new doors on last visit. My Mum has it now and is very pleased with 5 year warranty side of things!

The reason they're cheap as chips is because they rust like fk. They've not been dubbed Dacia Rusters for nothing! Do a search online for Dacia Duster rust and you will discover hundreds of pages on the issue.
Some Indian ones have had rust issues, UK ones are no longer produced in India due to quality issues, they are now produced in Romania; along with LHD Duster's, which have always been built in Romania; these have never had rust issues and they are still cheap.
